Job Description

Prepare new loan documents and or/modifications through loan processing programs Laser Pro, Decision Pro,E3, etc.

Assist the officers in preparing loan packets, which includes but not limited to, title work, Good Faith Estimates, flood work, resolutions, Certificates of good standing, credit bureaus, trust agreements, tax identification numbers, and insurance.Provide prompt, courteous and excellent service to internal and external customers at all times. This includes an obligation to actively cooperate and interact with other departments and facilities to advance the overall interests of the bank.

This position requires effective communication between all lending personnel, borrowers, regulators, auditors, outside agencies (other Financial institutions, Title Companies, Insurance Agencies), Compliance Officer and Accounting Department to assure adequate and proper procedures, payment application, system coding and compliance.Perform final review of loan files to ensure tickler is set up before filing and responsible for obtaining outstanding items such as insurance, final title work, recorded deed of trust and verified lien, by monitoring reports.

Responsible for reviewing file for adherence to regulations and lending policy including recorded Deeds of Trust, final title work, insurance, legal description and appraisal.Serve as a contact person for officers for daily updates, procedure changes, projects and any administrative assistance as needed. Stay current on compliance regulations by attending seminars and reading available information.Work closely with the Business Banking Specialist and Retail Banking staff to help with cross sell efforts with our bank customers. Continually look for ways to increase the cross sell of products at loan closings.Work closely with commercial and consumer lenders to ensure that customers are taken care of in a timely manner. Ensure quick turnaround on loan processing.Perform audits on files and management requests/projects. Complete reporting for the various loan systems to track exceptions or other documentation as necessary. Review documentation as required in loan policies and bank regulations. Keep abreast of changes in regulation and procedures that effect loan documentation and compliance.Ensure compliance for Community Reinvestment Act (CRA), Home Mortgage Disclosure Act (HMDA). Monitor reports to ensure accuracy.Assist other loan documentation employees as needed.Provide assistance to co-workers or customers with difficult problems or inquiries. Ensure prompt and courteous response to customer inquiries.Work closely with the Loan Operations Officer to continue to strive to make improvements to the loan department.Maintain educational and professional expertise through attendance at job related seminars, conferences and workshops. Keep abreast of activities, issues, changes and procedures of the Bank that will impact the loan operations function.During periodic exams, assist auditors with pulling files and/or other documents and making copies as deemed necessary.Work closely with internal and external examiners to ensure information is provided in a timely manner.

Interact directly with customers as necessary.Provide excellent customer service at all times to fellow bank employees as well as customers.Contribute to the effort of the Bank by performing other duties as assigned.

Requirements

Two years' bank consumer, mortgage or commercial loan processing/servicing experience and knowledge of bank credit processing/servicing procedures and policies preferred.Knowledge, skill and mental development equivalent to the completion of high school and some college courses (in the field of business), which includes specific courses in bookkeeping, business, math and typing.Self-starter; able to see what needs to be done.Knowledge of data processing, accuracy with numbers and attention to detail is a must.A high level of concentration is imperative.Excellent problem-solving abilities.Strong verbal communication skills.Analytical, organizational and time management skills.Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously in a fast paced environment.Knowledge of the necessary documentation and procedures to secure and perfect the bank's collateral is imperative.Strong verbal communication skills as evidenced by the ability to interact over the telephone and in person with customers, co-workers, and loan officers.Demonstrated ability to use discretion, tact and diplomacy when dealing with customers and co-workers, and a "professional" personal appearance and attitude at all times.Good math skills.Customer relations/service skills.Excellent typing/word processing and written communication skills.Working knowledge of various word processing and spreadsheet software.Good proof reading and editing skills.Ability to learn and understand regulatory and compliance issues affecting all lending areas.Ability to apply this knowledge in day-to-day operations.
