Brevard Physician Associates (BPA) is seeking dedicated Physician Assistants within our Emergency Division to fulfill our mission in providing the absolute best health care to the population of Brevard County. You will provide superior quality, competitive value, and outstanding service by providing the highest standards. You will be supported by supervising Physicians and the Chief Medical Officer (CMO).
Essential Functions
Manages emergency treatment and triageIssue appropriate prescriptions and administer medicineInform physicians about any problems and consultAcquire and review patient histories identifying abnormal conditionsMonitor patients' progress and keep records of treatmentsExamine patients and conduct routine proceduresCultivate a climate of trust and compassion for patientsTakes ownership and represents BPAs mission and organizational goals established by the executive committeeComply strictly with medical care regulations and safety standardsCollaborate effectively with team members of various specializationsPerforms physicals, diagnostic tests, and screening evaluationsProvides care to patients in a safe environmentParticipates in departmental Continuous Quality Improvement efforts and provides support for improvement of identified issuesWorks with Administration to ensure collaborative problem solving with staff through participation in identification, mediation, and resolution of issues and team problemsPromotes staff and community enhancement through coordination of in-services to staff, Physicians, and partners to promote profession and organizationAttends department staff meetings, Provider meetings, and other scheduled meetingsMaintains Quality Performance measuresMaintains predetermined productivity based on patient volumesMaintains internal customer satisfaction
Job Requirements
Clear and active Physician Assistant licensure1 Year experience of Emergency Department experience in a hospital settingCurrent Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers from the American Heart AssociationProficient in Electronic Medical Records (EMR)Demonstrates strong oral and written communication skillsAbility to speak and understand the English languageExtensive knowledge of physical assessment, differential diagnosis
Physical Requirements:
Ability to stand and or sit for long periods of time, work in front of a computer monitor and use keyboard for sustained periods of time.Able to walk about the department and hospital and lift and carry items up to 25 pounds without assistance.
