Continuously monitor and analyze database performance metrics.Optimize SQL queries, adjusting and adding indexes as necessary.Manage and allocate database resources to ensure smooth performance.Security and Compliance:
Regularly update and patch database software to address vulnerabilities.Implement and manage access controls, ensuring data encryption both at rest and in transit.Execute regular audits to ensure data security and regulatory compliance.Scalability and Availability:
Design and maintain databases with future scalability considerations.Implement clustering and replication strategies for high availability and load balancing.Database Administration in a SCADA Environment:
Monitor SCADA systems to ensure data integrity and availability.Design and implement database architectures that support SCADA system needs and complexities.Prioritize system security and ensure that databases are resistant to potential SCADA-specific vulnerabilities.Additional Duties related to Senior Database Administrator:
Develop and implement database policies and procedures.Liaise with IT teams, developers, and management to ensure database solutions meet organizational needs.Offer technical support and troubleshooting for database-related issues.Mentor junior database administrators and staff on best practices and procedures.
