Description

Position Summary:

The Chief Maintenance Engineer is responsible for maintaining the overall operation of the maintenance department and the appearance and working order of the hotel. The Chief Engineer must be willing to respond to emergencies, even if after hours, and work with corporate maintenance on special remodeling projects or capital expenditure needs. This position requires overall maintenance knowledge and trouble shooting ability with skills in painting, HVAC, carpentry, equipment, and tool usage.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:Directly carry out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws.Maintenance of entire property including all exterior and interior aspects (mechanical, electrical, plumbing, HVAC, boilers, building, grounds, etc.)Utilize the Maintenance Technicians Daily Work Assignments (Quore or other program) as the basis for properly delegating work amongst the department staff members.Act as the liaison with outside companies in regards to the inspection, maintenance, and certification of large equipment.Maintain proper par levels for all equipment and supplies needed for maintenance department.Assist General Manager in the research and development of annual budgets related to your department.Work with General Manager to develop, implement, and coordinate hotel safety and emergency plans.Acts as the Safety Program coordinator for the hotel.Takes primary responsibility for safety and fire training of managers and oversees the training of all hotel staff in emergency and safety procedures.Keep all tools and supplies secure throughout shift to prevent loss from theft.Ability to lift and/or move up to 50lbs.Ensure uniform and personal appearance are clean and professional, maintain confidentiality of proprietary information, and protect company assets.Performs other duties as assigned.Qualifications

Knowledge and Skills Required:

High School Education or GED. College degree preferred.Minimum of 4 years in Hospitality Maintenance and Management required.Effective problem-solving abilitiesExcellent written and verbal communication skillsWell organized and able to prioritize tasks.
