The Speech Language Pathologist (SLP) will:
Provide individual and group speech and language services within a transdisciplinary model that are individualized in nature and meet the needs of each studentUtilize a variety of treatment approaches that are safe, creative and individualized to a particular student's needsContinually monitor students' progress and adjust treatments accordingly based off clinical observations and data collectionConduct comprehensive evaluations and re-evaluations of a student's speech and language capabilitiesEnsure carryover and generalization of communication skills across all aspects of a students' daySeamlessly integrate speech and language services into social and life skills learnings and support given the individualized needs of each studentProactively maintain communication with students, family members and/or other care givers as appropriate to effectively address student progress, development and emergencies, as neededMaintains appropriate records and reports as requiredPerform other duties, as neededQualifications:
3+ years of related work experienceMaster's Degree in Speech Language PathologyNYS Speech Language Pathologist (SLP) licenseKnowledge of augmentative and alternative communication systems (AAC)Desired Skills:
Experience working with students with Developmental Disabilities or on the Autistic spectrumExperience in a School setting
