Since 1987, the Conservation Corps of Long Beach (CCLB) has worked to help youth realize their potential while serving the Gateway Cities area. As a state-certified Corps, CCLB is positioned to offer its Corpsmembers access to a variety of environmental work experiences while also facilitating personal development opportunities. More than 12,000 youth and young adults have benefitted from our unique program, and over 1,500 have received a high school diploma while working with us. We continue to serve local youth as we work towards achieving our vision of a world where all youth and young adults thrive, are resilient, have equitable access to opportunity, and are stewards of our community and the environment.
Mission The primary mission of the Conservation Corps of Long Beach is to support young people in realizing their potential through work, service, conservation, and education.
The Site Director is responsible for the planning, design, implementation, organization and all aspects of the After School Enrichment Program at the assigned school site.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
This position supervises and manages the day-to-day operations of our middle school, after school program site. This position is charged with seeing that the students are in a safe, well-supervised environment that provides them with a well-designed academic and enrichment program
Additional Responsibilities
Oversee implementation of a site program that includes the following components: homework assistance and/or tutoring, academic enrichment, physical recreation and snack
Manage and supervise site program staff including scheduling (work hours, components assigned, clean up and closing duties); planning and conducting weekly staff meetings and conducting program staff evaluations
Implement the agency and site administrative policies and procedures; including, but not limited to, enrollment forms, emergency contact information forms, time cards, attendance reports, data required for program evaluation
Develop and maintain a cooperative relationship with administration, faculty, and support staff to maximize linkages between the after school program and the regular school day
Develop and implement a plan to ensure maximum daily attendance including communication with parents regarding absences and early outs, staff referrals to the program, and student evaluation of enrichment activities
Oversight of all program resources including maintenance of equipment, ordering and inventory control of supplies and equipment
Development and implementation of incentive plans for students and program staff
Attend all mandatory meetings including, but not limited to; a. weekly meeting with Program Coordinator, monthly meetings with the principal; and monthly Site Directors meetings
Attend all mandatory in-service and training sessions
Oversee the implementation of the site behavior management, risk management and/or safety management plan, policies and procedures and school rules and standards
QUALIFICATIONS
Posses experience (minimum three years) in developing and implementing programs for school aged children; or similar experiences.
Be able to relate well to children, parents and staff (school, agency and other agencies) within a wide range of racial and cultural differences
Be willing to fulfill responsibilities in accordance with program goals
Be able and willing to adapt to a changing environment
Posses excellent organizational, administrative (data base and budget management), and program marketing skills
Posses effective oral and written communications skills with audiences at a variety of levels
Must have a current TB test
Must have a clear fingerprint (Live Scan) on file with CCLB.
Posses valid CPR and First Aid certification or obtain it within 3 weeks of hire date.
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Power Point, Access and Excel)
Must posses valid California Drivers License, have a good driving record and be insurable
Salary and Benefits:
$23.93 - $28.72 per hour (Rank 15) based on level of experience and education. Open to considering compensation for more experienced applicants.
