Network & Computer Systems Administrator
Marathon TS is seeking experienced Network and Computer Systems Administrator who will be responsible for maintaining multiple computing environments by identifying network requirements; installing upgrades; monitoring network performance and managing network configuration consistency. The Network Engineer will provide engineering, design, and implementation solutions for multiple network architecture. This position will be a hybrid position located in Lorton, VA.
Principle Duties and ResponsibilitiesMust have experience with Cisco IOS specifically Firewalls ASA5506, ASA5545, CISCO Nexus & Catalyst Switches, WAN Networking Infrastructure, VMware SRM, NetApp SnapMirror, and familiar with Windows OS (Server 2016+ / Windows 10+) and ADOptimize system operation and resource utilizationPerform system capacity analysis and planningResolve performance problems with the servers, desktops and network componentsProvide resolution of system failures and degradationsResponsible to maintain LAN/WAN/Wireless services and connectivityMaintain data centers, cabling, wiring closets, servers, consoles, switches, routers, etc.Monitor network and systems health, responding appropriately to network alerts and eventsDiagnose and troubleshoot network issues on a day-to-day basisConfigure routers, switches, firewalls, servers, cabling, and related equipmentMaintain redundancy across the network and identify areas of inefficiencyAdhere to Change Control procedures and plan implementations around existing maintenance windowsProvide documentation of projects and installations. Serve as engineer in on-call rotationPerform various other duties and projects as assignedMaintain and deploy policy changes to firewalls and load balancersIncident and request ManagementDesign and implementation of Network equipment and technologiesWork and participate in Network projectsProvide Network support for IT projectsPhysical Demands / Work Environment:
While performing the duties, this position regularly requires to walk, sit, stand, kneel, crouch, crawl, reach, lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move objects up to 50 lbs. and occasionally lift and/or move up to 80 lbs.Will be required to be on-site, Lorton, VA, for first 2 weeks and then on-site 1 to 2 days a week for systems maintenance and updates.May have occasional travel.Requirements
Required Skills, Knowledge and Experience
10 years or more of relevant experience in an enterprise IT network and computer systems environmentMicrosoft Certified Solutions Associate (MCSA) Certification - preferredMicrosoft Certified Systems Engineer (MCSE) with (+ security) Certification - preferredCisco Certified Network Associate Routing & Switching (CCNA) Certification - preferredExperience managing IT projects leveraging network infrastructureExperience with network device cipher suites, hashing algorithms, and certificatesProficient in systems administration, using Windows operating systems and high-level Active Directory administrationFamiliarity with Linux and a general understanding of enterprise virtualization for desktops and servers is desirableExperience to handle multiple IT related projects from inception through to implementationExperience shall include day-to-day administration and operation of complex networked computer-based systems distributed across its geographic regionProficient supporting specialized, intelligence-based computer systems and applications, with the ability to replace hard drives, memory modules, motherboards, power supplies, etc.Competency in infrastructure management techniques such as change management, problem management, configuration management, and system lifecycleProficient using SAN/Redundant Array of Independent Disks (RAID) and removable storage media, including Compact Disc/Digital Versatile Disc (CD/DVD) and Blu-Ray DiscsExcellent verbal and written communications in English to include strong teamwork skillsThe candidate must be capable of performing duties without direct supervision.Must have the ability to obtain and retain a US Government Security Clearance which requires US CitizenshipPreferred current Client Public Trust clearance#CJJOBS
