Business Systems Analyst (Hospitality Industry)
Location: Greater Seattle Area
The
Business Systems Analyst
delivers cost-effective business system and application analysis in support of business application development and deployment. This involves requirements evaluation, analysis, documentation, translation into correct system requirement specifications, and configuration. The business systems analyst develops and specifies system scope and objectives based on end-user requirements as well as a deep grasp of business systems, applications, and industry standards.
Responsibilities:Works with end users to define overall application functional and business needs and suggests application improvements, settings, and procedures.Serves as team leader for projects with moderate budgets or of short to medium length; exhibits leadership abilities by mentoring more junior-level workers and leading meetings.Establishes cost and time estimates for project development or implementationCreates business process flow charts; develops communication strategies (correspondence, presentations, and other materials) for leadership knowledge transferOn a daily basis:
Performs business process studies, requirements assessments, and early cost/benefit analysis to ensure that information technology solutions are aligned with business priorities.Collaborates with business users to describe and evaluate problems and identify the best technical, application, or configuration solutions.Solicits, creates, documents, and maintains requirements, as well as providing thorough design and business rules to support requirements throughout the project life cycle, up to and including change control.Qualifications:
In-depth understanding of system development technique, project management, system design, and analytical/problem-solving abilitiesSignificant expertise analyzing user requirements and producing functional specifications for new systems, system modifications, and/or system upgrades.Knowledge of Oracle Opera hospitality suite and the Oracle Hospitality Integration Platform (OHIP)Strong understanding of site design and development, marketing activities, and reservation management systems, as well as Internet security.
