As we work together to put the needs of the patient first, we are also dedicated to our employees, investing in competitive compensation and comprehensive benefit plans (https://jobs.mayoclinic.org/benefits/) – to take care of you and your family, now and in the future. And with continuing education and advancement opportunities at every turn, you can build a long, successful career with Mayo Clinic. You’ll thrive in an environment that supports innovation, is committed to ending racism and supporting diversity, equity and inclusion, and provides the resources you need to succeed.
Responsibilities
The Department of Laboratory Medicine and Pathology at Mayo Clinic in Arizona is seeking an academic renal pathologist with a commitment to clinical service and proven research track-record to work in a large group practice setting. Outstanding diagnostic and communication skills, as well as the drive for service excellence are necessary. The ideal candidate will have expertise in renal pathology (interpretation of transplant and medical renal biopsies, including electron microscopy and immunofluorescence). Additional interest/skill in other surgical pathology subspecialities is highly desirable.
Mayo Clinic in Arizona is the largest solid organ transplant program in the nation by number, with the Kidney Transplant program being the largest 2 years in a row. This increase in volume stems from our unique ability to evaluate and successfully utilize hard to place deceased donor offers and an increase in the number of transplants from living donors. Anatomic Pathology has been a key partner in this growth through review of preimplantation biopsies as well as the posttransplant surveillance and for-cause biopsies.
The selected candidate will join a group of 22 anatomic pathologists in a department of over 30 physicians and scientists. This position includes an academic appointment with the Mayo Clinic College of Medicine. Applicants from any academic rank are encouraged to apply.
