Project and Operations Manager . You will be involved with engineering, technical and business management functions, be the technical resource on tasks and projects, such as preventive and corrective maintenance, and will provide project leadership assistance on refurbishment projects that affect the operations of the mechanical utilities’ systems. This position is in the Mechanical Utilities Division of the Infrastructure Maintenance and Utilities Department and may require you to work at Site 300 in Tracy, California.This position will be filled at either level based on knowledge and related experience as assessed by the hiring team. Additional job responsibilities (outlined below) will be assigned if hired at the higher level.You willProvide technical and administrative oversight to plan and implement maintenance and operational projects to include leading project meetings with implementation staff/contractor, and project development meetings with engineers.Develop and coordinate tasks and windows with all Laboratory entities to eliminate program disruption (Facility Managers, Facilities Point of Contact, SMEs, ES&H, field supervisors, craft personnel, and contractors).Ensure that all utility measures are accounted for, and any needed temporary measures are implemented and operational during the project implementation window.Represent the organization in providing detailed moderate to complex analysis or solutions associated with specific projects and coordinate the design effort with senior technical staff.Develop work packages to include work scope, technical design instructions, task breakdowns, and all work instructions. Identify and provide logistical planning for all material and equipment required to perform the tasks.Act as Subcontractor Technical Representative on maintenance service agreements and contracts.Work with others to develop work schedules for projects requiring sequencing, facility and/or utility outages.Perform other duties as assigned.Additional Responsibilities At The TSS.3 LevelOversee small projects performing coordination between LLNL and external contractors using independent judgment to make constructability/design decisions.Write facilities-related statements for maintenance planning and various refurbishment projects.Mentor other employees on specific on-the-job training.QualificationsAbility to secure and maintain a U.S. DOE Q-level security clearance which requires U.S. citizenship.Bachelor’s degree in a technical area or equivalent combination of education and experience in construction, maintenance, and operations of facility systems with demonstrated ability to perform independent work.Comprehensive knowledge of rotating equipment, mechanical underground utilities distribution, and methods used for refurbishment and maintenance of site-wide mechanical utility systems including scheduling, job estimating, and planning.Comprehensive knowledge of the application of safety policies and procedures, regulatory requirements for equipment maintenance, and security regulations. Situated on 7,000 acres in rural foothills approximately six miles southwest of downtown Tracy and 15 miles southeast of Livermore, Site 300 hosts approximately 200 employees with expertise in such fields as engineering, chemistry, biology, and environmental restoration.
