Position Description:The Human Resources (HR) Director manages the day-to-day operations of HR, manages the administration of human resources policies, procedures, and programs, and leads human resources practices and objectives that result in a high-performing and growing workforce of 150+ employees. The HR Director also provides consultation to executive management on strategic staffing plans, employee relations issues, performance and talent management, compensation, training and development, and personnel budgets. Consult with the programs to help deliver an HR strategy that is aligned with the needs of the programs. Coach senior staff regarding leadership and staff development. The HR Director will manage an HR team of 2-3.

Position Responsibilities:

Develops organization strategies by identifying and researching human resources issues, contributing information, analysis, and recommendations. Implements human resources strategies by establishing program accountabilities, including staffing, employment processing, compensation, training and development, records management, employee relations and retention.

Strategic Planning:

Performance Management: Develop, implement, and maintain performance evaluation system. Oversee the Performance Management process including training, coaching and guidance.

Talent Management: Manages human resources operations by managing the recruiting, selecting, orienting, training, coaching, and developing staff; planning, monitoring, appraising, and reviewing staff contributions. Maintaining the organizational structure by updating job requirements and job descriptions for all positions. Conduct periodic pay surveys and schedules and job audits/evaluations. Review Employee Termination and Exit Interviews and provide recommendations.

Employee Relations:

Supports management by providing human resources advice, counsel, and decisions, analyzing information. Manages employee relations, benefits issues, STD, LTD, unemployment compensation & workers’ comp. Guides management and employee actions by researching, developing, writing, and updating policies, procedures.

Benefits Administration:

Provide guidance and answer employee inquiries on all benefit plans. Assess benefits needs and, if appropriate, recommend benefit programs. Provide guidance to employees on the defined benefit contribution and manage the administration of the plan.

Complies with federal, state, and local legal requirements by studying existing and new legislation; anticipating legislation; enforcing adherence to requirements; advising management on needed actions. Maintains employee handbook and confidentiality agreements. Ensure compliance with regulations and employment law. Responsible for annual reporting such as EEO reports. AA/EEO compliance.

HR Policy and Compliance:

Employee Development and Training: Create and administer career development initiatives and leadership programs for employees. Provide coaching and training on a variety of topics.

Other Duties:

Employee Safety, Welfare and Health: Ensure compliance with laws, policies, and regulations. Provide overall project management for HR initiatives.

Qualifications & Skills:• Excellent interpersonal, oral and written communications skills• Strong knowledge of employment law, employee relations, benefits, pension and compensation plans, training and development and PC skills (HRMS/Dayforce and MS Office)• Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously while maintaining confidentiality and following policy and procedure• Ability to maintain confidentiality• Ability to successfully work within a highly collaborative team environment is essential• Ability to take on multiple projects and be a strategic thinker• Willingness to uphold Catholic Moral & Social Teaching in the workplace

Education and Experience:• A bachelor’s degree in human resources management, or a related field. HR certification preferred.• 10 years of progressive experience in Human Resources preferably in a non-profit setting with at least 5 years of managing employees.

Physical Demands:Sitting for periods of time and some light lifting up to 25 lbs.
