The Human Resource Director will plan, lead, direct, develop, and coordinate the policies, activities, and staff of the Human Resource (HR) department, ensuring legal compliance and implementation of the organization's mission and talent strategy. Coordinate implementation through Human Resource staff. Assist and advise senior management on Human Resource issues.Responsibilities:Directs the functional areas of Human Resources including, but not limited to, performance and talent management, retention, personnel records, employee relations, employment counseling, compensation management, benefits administration, organizational development and training, occupational health and safety, and special projects.Responsible for maintaining a highly engaging culture, motivating employees, and fostering an environment with high levels of teamwork, accountability, communication, and vision for employees.Manages Human Resource Department and guides to resolve complex employee relations issues. Identifies and consults with the General Counsel on matters of legal importance.Develop and drive talent management strategies to ensure effective staffing alignment with the needs of the business. Create systems to attract talent, identify critical talent needs, develop core competencies and corresponding development opportunities, and engage leadership in succession planning.Monitors and ensures the organization's compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations; reviews and modifies policies and practices to maintain compliance.Develops, updates, and manages policies and procedures. Develops organizational strategies by identifying and researching human resource issues; contributes information, analysis, and recommendations to the organization’s strategic direction.Administers various human resource plans and procedures for all company personnel; assists in the development and implementation of company policies and procedures; provides input to update and maintain employee handbook.Works closely with management and employees to provide consultation and guidance to improve work relationships, build morale and increase productivity and retention.Ensures the maintenance records of transactions such as hires, promotions, transfers, terminations, attendance records, discipline records, employee performance appraisal records, and schedules.Directs the administration of the organization’s benefits programs including self-insured group health and dental plans, vision, wellness, retirement 401k savings plan, life and disability plans, leave programs, and Section 125 Flexible Benefits plan. Manage benefit relationships with broker, providers, consultants and Third-Party Administrator (TPA).Ensures benefit compliance in accordance with federal and state laws, including ERISA, FMLA, ADA, USERRA, Pregnancy Discrimination Act, HIPAA, COBRA, ACA and Company benefit policies and procedures. This includes required testing, audits and 5500 filings.Works closely with executive leaders and management to advise, counsel, and provide coaching and resolution to address employees’ performance. Provides performance management guidance to line management (coaching, counseling, career development, disciplinary actions).Design and implement a strategy to optimize and integrate HR technology (UKG system), enabling managers and employees to easily perform people-related transactions (e.g. benefits enrollment, performance assessments), facilitates delivery of effective HR services, securely stores employee data, and supports people-related decisions.Maintains knowledge of legal requirements and government reporting regulations affecting human resource functions and ensures policies, procedures, and reporting are in full compliance.Creates learning and development programs and initiatives that provide internal development opportunities for employees. Facilitates the Advanced Manufacturing Technology (AMT) training program.Performs other duties as assigned.Experience and Training Requirements:Bachelor’s degree in business administration, human resources, industrial relations, or a related field.Minimum of seven years of professional Human Resources experience, with at least three years of experience in a Human Resources leadership role.Knowledge of data analysis and reporting.Working knowledge of employment laws and regulations (ADA, EEO, FMLA, FLSA, COBRA, HIPAA, ADA) and the ability to appropriately spot employment risk issues.Advanced knowledge of MS Office, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and comfortable learning new technical systems as needed (HRIS systems).Experience in conflict resolution, disciplinary processes, and workplace investigations.Ability to respond effectively and timely to sensitive information.Ability to maintain confidentiality in all aspects of the job.Excellent presentation, verbal and written communication skills; must be an articulate and persuasive communicator.Proven HR experience, preferably within a piece-rate manufacturing company.Results-driven, solutions-oriented, and comfortable in a fast-paced environment with competing priorities.
