Description:

Position Purpose:

To provide Occupational Therapy services to patients to include evaluation, assessment, treatment program planning and implementation, and related documentation, and communication.

What you will Do:

Evaluates patients to obtain and interpret data necessary for treatment planning and implementation.

Develops treatment plans, directs, supervises and treats patients in accordance with treatment plan using treatment modalities.

Prepares written report of diagnostic findings, intervention techniques used, progress made and follow-up status in a time frame according to policy and procedure.

Consults and communicates with patient, family and other multi-disciplinary team members and contracted agencies.

Completes required documentation on patients and maintains other department records in accordance with departmental and health center policies and procedures.

Delegates and supervises activities of occupational therapy assistants and technicians, to assure efficient use of department resources.

Hours/Schedule:

PRN; As needed.

Minimum Qualifications:

B.S., B.A., M.O.T., M.S., or M.A. degree required.

Licensed as an Occupational Therapist in the State of Iowa required.

Prefer demonstrated competence in an outpatient care setting for at least one year.

Must have excellent verbal, written communication and interpersonal skills.

Must provide proof of Basic Life Support ( BLS Provider -American Heart Association or Professional Rescuer-American Red Cross) prior to employment or within 30 days of hire and maintains current status.

Must provide proof of Mandatory Reporting for Child and Dependent Adult Abuse training prior to employment or within 6 months of hire and maintain current status per State of Iowa guidelines.
