VP – Financial Analyst
Title: Vice President
Department: Accounting and Finance
Reports To: First Senior Vice President – Chief Financial Officer
Position Summary:
The Financial Planning Officer’s primary responsibilities include working directly with each business unit to prepare the Company’s annual budget, five-year business plan, and ongoing monthly and quarterly forecasting. This includes maintaining the Company’s budgeting system, performing analytics to continuously monitor and understand actual results against budget and peer institutions, and communicating results to the business units. This position is also responsible for overseeing the preparation of other standard monthly/quarterly reports and acting as a resource to other departments to answer questions regarding performance metrics, coordinate forecasts, and annual plans, and provide special pro forma analysis as required by the Finance Department.
Responsibilities:
Serve as a financial advisor to the CEO, CFO, and executive team for strategic planning purposes.
Lead and manage the budgeting process.
Be responsible for gathering financial data for analysis and forecasting with respect to profits, trends, costs, and compliance.
Develop appropriate tracking methods for revenue and expenses.

Coordinate with the management of the MIS department to ensure company objectives are met
Analyses business and financial data.
Creates financial models bases on analyses to support organizational decision-making.
Develops financial plans and reports for organizational leaders.
Analyzes industry trends and makes recommendations based on those trends.
Evaluates capital expenditures and depreciation.
Develops automated reporting and forecasting tools for more efficient use of data.
Preparation of the annual budget utilizing historical data, business plans, and peer comparisons by creating processes and controls.
The company’s risk limits/policy floors are taken into consideration during the planning cycle. Awareness of the risk profile of the Company.
Communication of actual results and variances to plan. Quarterly report on variance to plan with discussions of volume/rate differentials, peer comparisons, unplanned items, etc.
Preparation of monthly reports for senior and departmental managers; collaboration with other departments in researching inconsistencies in data before distribution.
Serve as the resource person regarding questions on key performance indicators and possess strong working knowledge of company operations.
Oversee design and maintenance of corporate plan model and be instrumental in the preparation of the annual plan.
Develop and maintain the quarterly forecast on a rolling 8 quarter basis.
Assist others within the Accounting and Finance Department and other areas of the Bank in the design of new reports based on organizational needs.
Prepare presentations and reports for the CEO, CFO, Board of Directors
Speak in place of the CFO or CEO when required regarding plan details.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in finance or accounting (if finance must have strong accounting skills)
5-7 years experience in financial analytics in the financial services industry
Professional experience as an accountant, auditor, or computer programmer analyst OR valid CPA (Certified Public Accountant) certificate with at least five years of professional experience as an accountant, auditor, or computer programmer analyst.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to interact within all levels of the organization
Ability to consistently meet deadlines and handle pressure
Exposure to some Asset/Liability Management a plus
Expert knowledge of Office 365, especially Excel, Cognos, Jack Henry Core System, Profitstars, SQL required.
