Cost Accountant
Job Purpose:Our Cost Accountants prepare journal entries, maintains and reconciles ledger accounts, collects data, allocates costs and prepares reports on labor, equipment, depreciation, assembly or other operating expenses, ensuring that established procedures are followed. This position will also prepare financial statements and variance reports as requested. This position will maintain one or a combination of cost accounting systems.
Nature of Work & Responsibilities
Performing various types of financial and cost analysis (variance, account, etc)Preparing system generated and ad hoc reportsAssisting with month-end and quarter-end close processesPreparing monthly and quarterly financial reportsEnsuring adherence to company accounting policies and SOX 404Performing additional projects as neededEducation and Experience:
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field0-2 years of Accounting experienceComputer skills to include Excel, Monarch, Microsoft Word, e-mail and accounting software packagesPrior experience with Oracle would be highly desirableProficient on 10 keyExperience and/or knowledge of SOX 404 requirements is preferred
