Perform skilled nursing duties and medication administration oversight at residential addiction treatment facility. Effectively interact with clients, significant others, and other treatment team members while maintaining standards of professional nursing.
SCOPE OF INFLUENCE
Oversight of all medical procedures and medications in residential addiction treatment facilitySupervision of LPN staffKEY RESPONSIBILITIES AND ACCOUNTABILITIES
Assess medical status of new and existing clients, refer for outside medical care when appropriatePerform on-going assessmentsImplement physician orders in a timely manner and maintain high standards of client careInitiate and implement client care plans, interact with medical health care providers, oversee medical appointments, referral and follow-up appointmentsAdminister medications as prescribed and monitor for adverse effectsPrescribe medication when necessaryDispose of all discontinued medication in compliance with regulationsParticipate in the orientation of clients to the program and facilityMaintain the standards of accurate and complete recording and reporting of client's filesSupervise LPN staffProvide crisis intervention as neededInvolvement in facility performance assessment and improvement planningOther
Attend regularly scheduled staff and program meetings; attend professional and community meetings to effectively secure available services for clientsPerform other duties and responsibilities as assigned. Perform special projects and other duties as assigned.JOB REQUIREMENTS
Required Knowledge
Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner (NP) with valid licenseExperience working with substance abuse and dual diagnosis populationsExcellent computer skills, willingness and ability to learn new software requiredAbility to maintain confidentiality of records and informationExcellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills. Team-player, able to multi-task and handle challenging situations
