Description

In this role, you will provide direct nursing care, infusion therapy, and documentation for patients in Hematology-Oncology Clinics. Major functions include: patient screening and assessment, patient evaluation, patient communication, preparation and administration of intravenous drugs, immunizations, and patient education.Salary range:

$59.46/hr - $88.39/hrQualifications

Required:Possession of a MSN/BSN degreePossession of current California RN licensePossession of BLS from the American Red Cross or American Heart AssociationObtain and maintain palliative care certification (if not at time of hiring, within 1 year of hiring)Knowledge of the adult patient population and practice operationsKnowledge of all aspects procedures and medication administrationAbility to organize, prioritize, and follow through for multiple patient treatments on an ongoing basisExcellent blood withdrawal and IV skillsKnowledge and skill in Central line CathetersKnowledge to recognize abnormal laboratory values and report to PhysiciansSkill in usage of medical diagnostic equipment, as well as working knowledge of instruments and supplies required to perform necessary blood tests and procedures.Ability to accept direction from leadership and act promptlyDemonstrated ability to establish and maintain cooperative working relationships with patients, peers, physicians, and administratorsSkill in listening perceptively, conveying awareness and responding to patients and visitors with health concerns using tact and discretionAbility to interact diplomatically and sympathetically with patients, their families, and general public in a high volume, clinical settingSkill in performing with frequent interruptions and/or distractions including the ability to accept equivocal circumstances and respond to changing priorities and deadlinesAbility to maintain equanimity in the face of resistance, indifference, and hostilityAbility to maintain confidentiality and to work with sensitive and confidential information using discretion and judgmentWorking knowledge of the UCLA registration system, appointment scheduling system and order entry systemPreferred:Possession of PICC line certification
