Description

Under supervision of the Clinical Director and Practice Manager, provide direct nursing care, infusion therapy, and documentation of care in the Evaluation and Treatment Center (ETC). Major functions include: triage of patient complaints, patient assessment, patient evaluation for both adult and pediatric patient populations. Preparation and administration of intravenous drugs and fluids, immunizations, patient education, and psychosocial support. Act as a resource to other licensed and unlicensed staff members. Assumes the charge nurse role during non-standard business hours including evenings, weekends, and holidays.Salary: $87.47/hourlyQualifications

Required:Graduate from an accredited school of nursing with a BSN or MSNCurrent and valid California RN licenseCurrent BLS from the American Heart Association or American Red CrossCurrent ACLS from the American Heart Association or American Red CrossThree years ER, Acute Care, or Urgent Care experiencePediatric ExperienceKnowledge of the Adult and Pediatric patient population and practice operationsKnowledge of all aspects procedures and medication administration in an urgent care settingAbility to assume direct involvement and provide backup support during clinic emergencies and in patient-related problem-solvingAbility to organize, prioritize, and follow through for multiple patient treatmentsPhlebotomy and IV skillsSkill in performing with frequent interruptions and/or distractions including the ability to accept equivocal circumstances and respond and adapt to changing priorities and deadlinesAbility to utilize appropriate interpersonal skills in all interactionsAbility to accept direction and promptly follow through on other duties as assigned with minimal supervisionExperience and knowledge to accurately screen and triage acute patientsKnowledge and experience to recognize abnormal laboratory values and respondSkill in usage of medical diagnostic equipment, as well as working knowledge of instruments and supplies required to perform necessary blood tests and proceduresDemonstrated ability to establish and maintain cooperative working relationships with patients, peers, physicians, and administratorsSkill in listening perceptively, conveying awareness, and responding to patients and visitors with health concerns using tact and discretionAbility to interact diplomatically and sympathetically with patients, their families, and the general public in a high-volume, clinical settingAbility to maintain equanimity in the face of resistance, indifference, and hostilityAbility to maintain confidentiality and to work with sensitive and confidential information using discretion and judgmentPreferred:Possession of PICC line certificationKnowledge and skill in Central line Catheter management and accessWorking knowledge of the UCLA registration system, appointment scheduling system, and order entry system
