Responsibilities

The Staff Accountant is to provide support to the Accounting & Finance department, such as preparing journal entries, reviewing the general ledger and preparing balance sheet reconciliations, preparing financial statements, cash flow management, fixed asset review & audit & tax support to mention a few.

Examples of Duties, includes but is not limited to the following:

Monthly general ledger processing and review, to include initiating and processing journal entries for monthly & quarterly closings Compiles financial information and reconciles reports and financial data Prepare month-end reconciliations for analysis of balance sheet accounts and sub-ledgers Review general ledger before preparing the month-end financial statements Prepare a large number of account reconciliations for various companies Prepare standard and adjusting general ledger entries Prepare sales tax returns Oversee fixed asset activity and prepare related reports Prepare payroll tax filings Revenue and expenditure variance analysis Monitor and analyze accounting data and produce financial reports Establish and enforce proper accounting methods, policies and principles Work with Controller to ensure a clean and timely year-end audit Meet financial accounting objectives Establish and maintain fiscal files and records to document transactions Complete ad hoc projects Qualifications

3-5 years of experience in accounting/finance.Hospitality experience preferred. BS/BA in Accounting or Finance required. Strong computer skills, including advanced Microsoft Excel skills Strong analytical, organizational, planning and communication skills Ability to schedule, determine priorities and meet critical deadlines Creative/strategic thinker, able to help enhance current systems Ability to analyze complex issues, identify alternative solutions and communicate them effectively with management Dynamic, proactive, solution-oriented and creative individual who can work in a dynamic environment Excellent written, verbal and organizational skills Flexibility to work extended hours (as required)
