West Virginia University (WVU) School of Medicine, Department of Pathology, Anatomy & Laboratory Medicine (PALM) seeks a

Gastrointestinal (GI) Pathologist , open-rank (Assistant Professor, Associate Professor, Professor) in the clinician-track to meet the needs of our rapidly expanding advanced GI endoscopy and surgical services. Expertise in neoplastic and inflammatory conditions of the GI tract, liver, and pancreas is essential. The successful candidate is expected to practice in Morgantown, WV.

Duties : The successful candidate will join our existing GI pathology faculty in the Section of Gastrointestinal and Hepatobiliary Pathology. They will have the opportunity to practice luminal GI, pancreas, and liver pathology exclusively or in conjunction with other subspecialties of interest. Active involvement in teaching our medical students, residents, and fellows is required. Additional responsibilities and leadership roles will be considered based on a candidate's interests, skills, and experience.

Qualifications : Successful candidates must have an MD, MD/PhD or DO degree, be board certified in AP or AP/CP and have successfully completed a fellowship in GI pathology or have substantial experience signing out complex GI/liver/pancreas/biliary cases. Candidates must be eligible to obtain a state medical license at the time of employment.

About the Department : WVU PALM is a rapidly growing department consisting of faculty in AP, CP, Translational Pathology, Anatomical Sciences and Medical Laboratory Sciences. Clinical AP services are committed to Digital Pathology and are supported by state-of-the-art ancillary testing. Faculty research activities are supported by the PALM Tissue Bank, Research Histology Lab, Brain Bank and the Rapid Development Laboratory.
