Additional Job Description:West Virginia University School of Medicine and the Department of Pediatrics

seek an Adolescent Medicine physician (ranks available: Assistant Professor, Associate Professor, or Professor). The successful candidate will be expected to practice in Morgantown, WV.Duties: The successful candidate will practice in the area of Adolescent Medicine.The successful candidate will join our group of two adolescent medicine physicians, including full-time clinical and combination clinical-research faculty with funding through NIH and private funding mechanisms.Clinical responsibilities will include seeing adolescent and young adult patients with duties that entail a mix of general adolescent clinic and participation in multidisciplinary clinics, inpatient consults, and telemedicine in collaboration with advance practice providers throughout the state. In addition to providing excellent patient care, the successful candidate will also be actively involved in the teaching of medical students and residents.Qualifications: Candidate must have an MD or DO degree or foreign equivalent and be eligible for state medical license. Successful candidate must have completed a pediatrics, medicine/pediatrics, or family medicine residency program, as well as an adolescent medicine fellowship program. Successful candidates must be board certified/eligible in adolescent medicine. All qualifications must be met by the time of appointment.Our new 150 bed Children's Hospital has a full suite of pediatric operating rooms, cardiac catheterization lab/interventional radiology, and GI-endoscopy with dedicated pediatric anesthesia staff. The hospital includes 34 pediatric beds, 54 NICU beds, 26 PICU beds, Heart Center, and a dedicated Cancer Center. WVU Medicine Children's is a Level 2 Pediatric Trauma Center, with plans to become Level 1, as it is for adults currently. There is also a Birthing Center including a 30-bed obstetrical unit and maternal-fetal medicine clinic. J. W. Ruby Memorial Hospital is the only hospital in West Virginia with a pediatric cardiac surgery program, the only epilepsy monitoring unit in the state equipped to serve children, and the only hospital in the state to receive Magnet status for nursing excellence.The West Virginia University Health System is West Virginia's largest health system and the state's largest employer.
