PurposePrimarily responsible for supporting management in the following accounting functions, including but not limited to monthly and quarterly close; general ledger; recording and relieving accruals; account reconciliations; intercompany allocations and reconciliations; balance sheet and income statement analysis; compliance with US GAAP, external and internal duties, design, implementation, and/or improvement of processes and internal controls; and other ad-hoc projects as necessaryEssential Duties & ResponsibilitiesLead and execute month-end close responsibilitiesPrepare reconciliations of all accounts required for divisional and group reporting, such as cash, prepaid expenses, fixed assets, accounts payable, accrued expenses, revenues, and expensesPrepare monthly journal entries, which include proper supporting documentationBe accountable for the accuracy of all month-end closing deliverables and the timely completion of such deliverables in accordance with preset deadlinesPrepare divisional financial statements and supporting schedules according to the monthly close scheduleAnalyze financial statements on a monthly basis and report on unusual or significant variances from previous periods and budgetDevelop policies and procedures designed to facilitate review of each of the Company's accounts for proper accounting treatment under US GAAP and work closely with the Company's external auditors to get through the audit and supplemental bank reportingReconcile intercompany transactions and ensure proper supporting documentationWork collaboratively with other Entity and Division accounting teams to ensure financial completeness and accuracyProtect the organization's value by keeping information confidentialAd-hoc Projects - provide assistance to the Manager, Retail Accounting on ad-hoc projects, as necessaryQualifications & Education RequirementsCPA license, or international equivalent, preferredBachelor's degree or higher in Accounting or Finance3-5 minimum years of experience in accounting or related field, public accounting experience is desiredGood understanding of accounting theoryGood understanding of US GAAP, in addition to a willingness to research and resolve accounting issuesPreferred SkillsExperience with financial systems a plus (general ledger and/or consolidation tools)Proficient with Microsoft Office applicationsHighly detailed oriented, organized, and able to meet assigned deadlinesAbility to work cooperatively and collaboratively with all levels of employees, management, and external service providers to maximize performance, creativity, problem-solving, and resultsOther DutiesThis job description is not designed to cover or contain a comprehensive listing of activities, duties, or responsibilities that are required of the employee for this job.
