Job Description:POSITION PURPOSEUnder the direct supervision of the Chief Nurse Officer (CNO), assist patients in meeting self-care and daily needs. SUMMARYAll employees are expected to perform their duties as set forth here and in accordance with all policies, procedures, and Mission, Values, and Vision of Catalina Island Medical Center "CIMC." The person doing this job is responsible for a variety of tasks that lead to a high level of customer satisfaction with respect and dignity. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS1. ids in activities of patients' daily needs.2. Performs treatments and procedures not requiring sterile techniques.3. Records and reports observation of patients to immediate supervisor, including temperatures, pulse, respiration, blood pressure, weight, daily intake, and output.4. May transport patients, equipment, and supplies.5. May do surgical preps and may assist in the preparation of patients for treatment and examination.6. WORKING CONDITIONSWork is performed in a Critical Access/ Rural Health Clinic environment. It involves frequent contact with patients, physicians, and other CIMC staff. Work may have heavy emotional requirements. Interaction with others is constant and interrupted. The employee could be exposed to communicable disease, toxic substances, medicinal preparations, and other conditions that are common to the clinical environment. Safety policies and good health practices are expected to be understood and observed. Physical / Mental Demands1. Work closely with patients in all age categories. Patients are treated with care and compassion and with special regard for age-specific considerations.2. Varied activities including standing, walking, reaching, bending, lifting. Requires full range of body motion including lifting, manual and finger dexterity, and eye-hand coordination.3. Occasionally lift and carry items weighing up to 50 pounds.4.
