Overview :

Under the direction of the Accounting leadership, the Senior Accountant is responsible for assisting in the month end close process by analyzing monthly activity as well as recording journal entries to the general ledger. In addition, this role will provide general accounting support across the organization.

Responsibilities :

Prepare journal entries, account analysis, roll-forwards, and other required analysis for month-end closeAssist in the preparation of monthly financial reportingEnsure all transactions have been recorded in accordance with GAAP and review balance sheet reconciliations to substantiate the balances and follow-up on any action items in a timely mannerReview journal entries and other GL requests to ensure accuracy and validitySupport the business office managers in the field by providing training support and resolving issuesOversee the payroll process and ensure payroll is recorded properly to the general ledger in each accounting cycleMonitor cash balances, reconcile monthly bank activity, and resolve any issues related to cashIdentify, research, and resolve items impacting financial statementsEvaluate and improve internal processes and controlsServe as escalation contact for Accounts Receivable collectionsAssist in the preparation of the financial auditsAssist in the preparation of the annual budgetsProvides financial/analytical support across the organizationQualifications:

Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance with 3 - 5 years' experience preferredExperience with multi-family real estate and/or senior living industry preferredLargely self-directed with the ability to seek out objectives and complete with minimal management inputDemonstrates flexibility by pivoting quickly to align with business needsKnowledge and application of Intermediate/Advanced MS ExcelAbility to multi-task and work in a challenging fast paced environmentMaturity, professionalism, and high level of discretion are requiredStrong work ethic with a positive, can-do attitudeStrong presence with the ability to interact with senior leadershipMakes sound and timely decisionsStrong organization and time management skills with attention to detailTeam-oriented; willingness to pitch in and help outSelf-motivated; takes initiative
