Job Description
The Secure Connected Edge Horizontal Enablement team at NXP Semiconductors defines the strategy for and promotion of our software and tools enablement for microprocessors and microprocessors, including strategic partner engagements, to ensure the best possible ecosystem supports these products and complements other offerings from NXP's portfolio. As part of this team we are looking for strategic thinker with vision and good technical understanding of microprocessor applications to lead efforts in this area.
This role encompasses the following responsibilities:
Working with the development tools marketing team, identify tool needs for MPU developer experience, based on strategic vision and inputs from NXP FAEs, customers and the silicon product marketing team.Develop technical marketing materials (presentations, videos) to evangelize, promote and educate customers/FAEs/Sales about our i.MX product software enablement.Identify required training content needed to support MPU software, and work with our Systems Engineering team to specify and validate that content. Participate in introductory training delivery to FAEs and customers.Create and develop partner relationships related to areas of responsibility as part of the NXP Partner Program, engaging in joint promotion plans and execution.Evaluate competitor software capabilities and strategies to validate NXP competitiveness, identify opportunities and threats, and recommend strategy changes and/or responses.Work with Marcom team support to promote MPU enablement through blogs, social media and other media channels.
NXP's general purpose MPUs are supported by enabling software and tool technology, developed both internally and from partners, in the areas of networking, graphics, voice processing, audio processing, motor control, cloud connectivity, functional safety and security. The successful candidate will work with the strategic owners of these technologies and with Segment Marketing to align our run-time MPU software enablement, including Linux, Android, Zephyr, and partner operating systems. Networking and multicore processing will be particular areas of focus.
Required skills and experience Candidates should have a minimum of a bachelor's degree in engineering or computer science with at least 5 years of practical experience in embedded software development in C/C++, plus at least 2 years of experience in a marketing role. Applicants with a computer science/software background must also have a good understanding of hardware platforms. The role requires good energy to champion NXP's solutions to our FAEs, sales team, distributors and customers, so excellent communication skills, including fluency in English (both spoken and written), are needed. Day to day collaboration with colleagues across the World is involved, including regular communication with colleagues in the United States, Europe and China.
