We are a leading International Industrial Distributor of Mechanical, Automation, Pneumatic, and Hydraulic products with a broad offering of Engineering Services and System design solutions. We are looking for a Regional Sales Manager to expand our customer base and achieve sales goals for the southern region of our company (NY, NJ, CT, RI).

As a Regional Sales Manager, you will be responsible for developing and implementing sales and marketing strategies across a group of territories. You will also oversee the performance and development of your outside sales team, ensuring they meet their targets and achieve sales growth objectives.

To be successful in this role, you should have previous experience managing the operation of an outside sales team while taking accountability for reaching targets. You should also have a solid understanding of the industrial distribution market, the products we offer, and the needs of our customers. You should also be able to travel frequently within your region and occasionally to other locations.

Some of the duties and responsibilities of a Regional Sales Manager include:Establish sales objectives by projecting expected sales volume and forecasting and developing sales quotas for territories and the regionDevelop field sales action plans to facilitate the implementation of the regional sales programsWork with sales branches to meet with employees, communicate about sales goals and expectations and gather research about their target marketMonitor and analyze sales data and trends and provide feedback and recommendations to improve sales performance and customer satisfactionEnsure the delivery of targets through individual recognition, performance review, people management and rewardMeet with customers to discuss their evolving needs and to assess the quality of the company's relationship with themRecommend service and product enhancement to improve the sales potential and customer satisfactionPositively contribute to team effort by accomplishing related resultsProvide the necessary support to outside sales representatives to enable them to generate market leads and close new dealsDevelop and implement new programs, sales initiatives and strategies to capture key demographicsDesign cross-selling programs and campaignsEnsure the effectiveness of cross-selling activities by guiding employeesUplift the regional sales volume to its possible bestOrganize training for new staffDevelop and review long- and short-term sales strategiesDevelop and maintain relationships with partner manufacturersThe ideal candidate for this position should have:

Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Marketing, or related fieldAt least 3 years of experience in sales management, preferably in the industrial distribution industryProven ability to lead, motivate and coach a sales teamExcellent communication, negotiation and presentation skillsStrong analytical, problem-solving and decision-making skillsProficient in Microsoft Office and CRM softwareAbility to work successfully in a team environmentWillingness to travel extensively within the region and occasionally to other locations
