We stay true to our values of designing spaces that respect, protect and enhance the natural magic of their surroundings while delivering long-term value for our clients and their communities.WATG is hiring a Project Architect for our office in Los Angeles, California.ROLELicensed Architect accountable to the Project Manager and Project Designer for project performance and team communications. The Project Architect is responsible for project deliverables, the technical content of documents, the implementation of comments, QA reviews, and the coordination of disciplines, including consultants. The Project Architect directs the work assignments of a diverse project team as well as coordinates with clients, consultants, and contractors. The Project Architect reports to the Project Director.RESPONSIBILITIESEnsures the overall design intent of the project established by the Project Designer is incorporated into the detailed project documentationMonitors the design process from the conceptual phase through construction administration, and validates that the design idea is consistent and properly executedResponsible for the technical resolution and coordination of a defined portion of a project or projects, including the coordination of drawings and specificationsChecks completed reports, plans, estimates, and calculations for accuracyCoordinates use and tracks shared electronic documentation and files with the project team, clients, and consultantsWrites reports and documentation to consultants and vendors to issue changes and track resolutionsPrepares meeting minutes of consultant coordination meetingsManages project documents and identifies the sheets planned for each stage of the work, including defining how data will be organized into files and which elements will be incorporated in a Building Information Model (BIM)Manages standardsFosters and maintains a collaborative professional working relationship with the project teamCoordinates communication with other disciplines, vendors, and contractors to ensure incorporation of all information into project requirements, providing support when necessaryManages construction detail documentation so that it conforms to quality assurance, quality control, and best practice standardsSupervises the preparation of technical drawings by other less senior-level architects or team membersPerforms as team leader on certain projectsMentors and directs the work of team members, reviews their work, and provides development opportunitiesIncorporates Integrated Sustainable Design solutions into projectsFosters a green workplace through sustainable work practicesQUALIFICATIONS

Bachelor’s degree in ArchitectureProfessional license required10+ years of experience designing small to mid-size architectural projects, including urban and resort hotelsProficiency in technical skills, including AutoCAD, Revit, and 3D modeling software, such as Rhino and SketchUpSketching skills requiredKnowledge of architectural building systems, integrated design, trends, construction methodology, QA/QC process, CA process, building codes, and the ability to research and apply to technical documentsExperienced in client management, project management, and negotiationsAbility to work in a team environment and supervise othersAbility to effectively meet deadlinesHighly effective written and verbal communication and presentation skills*Please include a copy of your resume and portfolio to be considered for this position.
