We stay true to our values of designing spaces that respect, protect, and enhance the natural magic of their surroundings while delivering long-term value for our clients and their communities.WATG is hiring a Senior Project Planner for our new office in Dallas, Texas.ROLEThe Senior Project Planner collaborates with architects, landscape architects, consultants, and other project members to plan, design, coordinate, and present ideas for diverse resort, residential, urban planning and design projects. Depending on the project size and scope, the Senior Project Planner may work closely with a designated Project Manager or act as the Project Manager to drive the delivery of the project on budget and within established schedules.RESPONSIBILITIESCreates integrated, sustainable, and equitable solutions to complex land planning problems, leading and managing project activities and supervising team members assigned to the project regarding scope performance and the production of project deliverablesManages internal teams, consultants, local planners, and other specialists or sub-consultantsAssures the project conforms to WATG’s QC process and delivery standards (ISO) and develops contractual client agreements and understands liabilities related to planner/owner projects, including fee calculationsManages the projects within established schedules and budgets to ensure profitability and the efficient utilization of resourcesImplements processes to reduce project risks and exposureConducts research and data analysis, including master plan level programming and space planning studiesInterfaces with clients, sub-consultants, and other professionals during all phases of complex and multi-disciplinary projects to ensure a coordinated, cohesive, and informed engagement and appropriate guidance and response to project requirementsLeads presentations, project coordination, and client communications, preparing planning-related graphics for project reports and meetingsProvides design and production leadership on all phases of a projectDemonstrates design competency and creativity in producing design sketches, site planning, analysis diagrams, site sections, footprint layouts, 3D models, and presentations for master planning projectsProvides own expertise in writing and compiling a variety of document types, including planning reports, technical memoranda, design narratives, project approaches, and design guidelinesQUALIFICATIONSBachelor’s degree in urban planning, urban design, landscape architecture, or related fieldRegistered professional in planning or landscape architecture preferred15+ years of experience in urban design, urban planning, or landscape architecture practicesProficiency in MS Office, AutoCAD, Adobe Creative Suite, SketchUpExtensive land planning experience, including project management, graphic communication, land-use zoning, and client relationshipsExcellent graphic skills, including hand-sketch ability, visualization renderings, plans, and document layoutWorking knowledge of sustainable design and planningProven project leadership, project management, and resource coordination, with the ability to effectively work in a team environmentExperienced people manager and mentor of othersMeets project requirements, managing multiple priorities within established schedules and budgetsExcellent written and verbal communication and client presentation skillsTravel may be required*Please include a copy of your resume and portfolio to be considered for this position.
