POSITION SUMMARY:

This role is to preform duties to ensure quality material throughout the silos, by following all safety protocols when sampling material and assisting with loading trucks. A process assistant is the second line of defense to maintain all procedures are being followed throughout the plant level.

RESPONSIBILITIES & EXPECTATIONS:

Production

Familiar with equipment capacity and load capabilities of dryer related material handling equipment on stone, dust, milling, and material handling systems.Responsible for continuously monitoring equipment and flow of material into the plant dryer. Responsible for the monitoring of operations of the plant Ball Mills and Roller Mill.Assist in resolving production issues, troubleshooting, and adapt to changing conditions.Perform miscellaneous duties such as removal of blockages, choked screws, elevators and conveyors.Check in/out and load customer trucks for outbound delivery.Perform light maintenance functions on process equipment as needed.Perform all pre-shift inspections, run testing on all plant samples and truck samples.Act as back up support for Assistant Plant Operator role when necessary.Able to perform all tasks associated with the Assistant Plant Operator role.Act as back up support for Scale Operator role when necessary.Maintain high standards of housekeeping in plant area systems.Reporting

Complete work place exams and environmental inspections.Follow Safe Quality Food guidelines.Quality

Support the Lab as needed and ability to provide back up support for Lab role when necessary.Silo inventory measurements.Ensure that different product types are distributed into the appropriate bins.Assist and support with an extra testing or trials.Safety/Housekeeping

Attend scheduled safety meetings.Take lead on plant housekeeping. Identify areas of concern and how to address problems. Support Production and Maintenance to prevent housekeeping issues in the plant.Enforce all applicable safety policies.Perform all work assigned in a neat and orderly manner adhering to company and governmental safety rules and regulations including company lock out tag out procedures.Ability to operate heavy equipment including haul truck, skid steer loader, utility wheel loader, man lift, and forklift in a safe manner.Maintain a safe and clean work environmentPromote safety among co-workers.Participate in Behavior Based Safety program.Perform or assist with maintenance tasks as required.

Clean bins, conveyers, spills, and help clean out material from under conveyers and catwalks, and other cleaning duties as needed.Perform pre-start maintenance on dryer, plant processes and mills.Understand and work within Safe Quality Food certification requirements.

All personnel will be responsible for the facilities' Safe Food initiative based on FSMA and Current Good Manufacturing Practices.Qualified on mobile equipment including but not limited to: Skidsteers, plant loaders, quarry haul truck, grader, water truck, forklift, and any other equipment that would be needed for this role.

Problem Solving - uses logic and methods to help solve plant operating problems.Communication Skills - clear written and verbal instructions and notes are essential.Working Knowledge - must understand the mechanics of the process equipment and material flow through the plant.Must be capable of working any shift, overtime, be on-call, or work seven days a week, if needed.Must be able to multiple tasks with a strong sense of urgency to meet the customer needs.Must be able to work well within a team environment and take instructions from management and co-workers.Must be a self-starter with the ability to work independentlyMust possess the basic reading and math skillsMust have good written and verbal communicate skills.Must possess basic computer skills on how to use MS Office products and SAP is a plusStrong record of attendance reliabilitySafety Oriented with the ability to work well within a team environment.Must be capable of performing the essential job duties required of this jobPhysical Demands include, but are not limited to:

Must be physically able to perform work assigned.Must be physically capable of accessing all plant locations.Access all areas within a site which could include heights of 120 feet, confined spaces, climbing ladders or stairs, and accessing tunnels.Will be working at times in covered environment but mainly in a mining environment.The employee will be exposed to the following working conditions: Extreme Heat and Cold, Noise, Vibration, Oils, and Atmospheric Conditions such as Dust, Fumes, and Mineral Particles.The employee will be required to perform the following actions (from time to time): Standing, walking, balancing, stooping, kneeling, reaching, talking, seeing, hearing and sitting.Ability to consistently lift over 50 pounds as needed.

Required Experience:

Previous heavy manufacturing and/or mining experience is highly preferred. Must have at least one to three years.

Required Education:

High School Diploma or GED Equivalent
