Job Description

s a PCB Design Engineer, you will design, modify, and evaluate Printed Circuit Board (PCB) products for use in rugged environments to meet quality, delivery and cost goals using Computer Aided Design Tools (CAD). In addition, you will: Provide technical layout support in the development of new application product development. Perform stack-up analysis, impedance calculations, gerber processing, and EMC analysis for complex multi-layer printed circuit boards to ensure electronic assemblies meet the requirements of harsh environments for vehicle applications. Perform as expert user of Printed Circuit Board (PCB) CAD systems with considerable experience for complex engineering models and components and evaluate new processes, updates and tools Understand overseas and domestic PCB fabrication vendors to develop capability criteria, procedures and resolve production issues Implement new PCB technologies and processes for the PCB Design Team while mentoring others in the department. E8 or more years' experience in PCB design including PCB fabrication and board level assembly practices 5 or more years' experience with PCB Computer Aided Designs (CAD) 5 or more years' experience performing complex PCB work requiring application of standard PCB techniques, procedures and criteria Expert knowledge of industry standards such as IPC (Association Connecting Electronics Industries) Experience applying engineering principles to the design of PCBs while meeting design for manufacturability (DFM) requirements Technical comprehension of testing, manufacturing, quality control, and cost trade-offs of PCB design requirements Proficiency to effectively direct the work of aides, contractors, PCB designers and technicians Capability to successful interface with customers without guidance from supervisor Experience with Mentor Graphics Expedition Experience with Mentor Graphics Design Capture and DX/VX Designer Experience with Mentor Graphics Constraint Editor System (CES) Experience with switching power supplies and memory routing rules Experience with Design for Test (DFT) Experience with power electronics for a variety of DC voltage levels (up to 1000 Vdc) and power levels (up to 50kW) Experience with creepage and clearance rules for power electronics IPC Designer Certification for Certified Interconnect Designer (CID/CID+) Minimum B.S. degree in Electrical Engineering from an accredited engineering program or equivalent experience.
