Title of Position: Director of Facilities Management

Location: Gateways Hospital and Mental Health Center (multiple facilities)

Supervisor: Chief HR Officer and Chief Executive Officer

SUMMARY OF POSITION

The Director of Facilities Management provides leadership, direction and supervision of the organization's physical plant(s), maintenance, grounds, compliance and safety. The Director has significant input into compliance with the Environment of Care standards of the Joint Commission and has a shared responsibility for the assessment of the organization's compliance with Life Safety Codes with the Director of Environment of Care, and updating of the Maintenance Policies and Procedures. He/she is responsible for organizing and directing programs to maintain the facilities, equipment and grounds in a safe and efficient manner in accordance with federal, state and local regulations, and established policies and procedures. The Director is responsible for preventative maintenance and coordination of unscheduled maintenance of all hospital and affiliated buildings and equipment, mechanical, electrical, plumbing, carpentry and HVAC systems.

ESSENTIALS DUTIES

Ensure compliance with all requirements for behavioral healthcare facilities for federal, state, occupational, and local governing bodiesManage a budget for all maintenance and engineering personnel and operational costs within the departmentManage and be responsible for all construction and renovation throughout all facilities of the organizationManage the sites in accordance with organizational policies and proceduresResponsible for the operation and maintenance of all electrical, mechanical, HVAC, and critical systems of the facilitiesEnsure compliance with all health and safety requirements and initiatives within the organizationLead the organization during all physical and construction related operations within the organizationWork with departmental leaders to ensure that all of the needs of the facilities from a maintenance and engineering perspective are metWork with IT and other administrative departments to support the infrastructure needs of organizational operationsBecome a strategic leader in the management of large-scale facilities and construction projectsManage outside construction and service vendors to ensure timely completion of assigned projectsManage organizational access systems (card access) to ensure that safety protocols are effectively managedEXPERIENCE/QUALIFICATIONS

A minimum of 5 years of Facilities leadership experience is requiredExperience in managing healthcare facilities is requiredBachelors Degree in an applicable field is desirableREQUIREMENTS

Must pass Department of Justice (DOJ), Federal Bureau of Investigations (FBI), and Community Care Licensing (CCL) background clearance.Valid California Driver's license.TB clearance.Driving record acceptable for coverage by Gateways insurance carrier.Fire and Safety Training*.First Aid Training Certification*.CPR Certification*.Crisis Prevention Institute Training (CPI)*** Note: If indicated certifications/licenses are lacking, they must be obtained within 180 days of hire.

**Training needs to be completed within 30 days from the date of hire on a designated date provided by on-boarding. Staff need to be certified at the commensurate level for their role to perform their job duties (staff will be taken off the schedule if certification is not achieved).
