About UsUofL Health is investing in the health of Bullitt County, and the surrounding area with an expansion of UofL Health Medical Center South to become an inpatient hospital UofL Health South Hospital. South Hospital is expected to open in early 2024 and will add approximately 100,000 square feet of new space to the existing facility. South Hospital will include a 10-bed intensive care unit, medical/surgical patient rooms, six operating rooms, new cardiac catheterization lab, expanded emergency department, centralized sterile processing area, laboratory, pharmacy, cardiopulmonary, respiratory therapy and more.Job SummaryThis position is responsible for all plumbing, piping, steam systems and equipment. These systems are life support systems or essential utilities, including medical gases/vacuum. Sewage systems, domestic water supply, domestic hot and cold-water generation, distribution of steam and condensation systems (i.e., sterilization). Maintenance of heating hot and chilled water.Responsibilities:Under the direct supervision of a Supervisor/Lead Mechanic, this position will provide a safe campus, including:Installs repairs and/or maintains fixtures and equipment such as urinals, toilets, sinks, drinking fountains and faucets. Clears pipe stoppages utilizing drain cleaning equipment. Replaces copper, cast and PVC pipingInstalls, inspects, and maintains all existing plumbing and hydronic systemsCompletes inspections of all plumbing systems and equipment according to established procedures, federal and state regulation and codesMust be able to have the ability read and understand blueprints and sketchesAbility to braze, solder and use plumbing toolsOther Functions:Assists other skilled workers and performs general maintenance work as neededResponsible for corrective and preventive maintenance of all assigned equipment utilizing a data-based work order management systemResponsible for maintaining of parts materials and supplies to perform daily job functionComplies with HIPAA privacy and security requirements to maintain confidentiality at all timesMaintains compliance with all company policies, procedures and standards of conductPerforms other duties as assigned

Qualifications:Education:High School diploma or GED/Equivalent (required)Plumber apprenticeship or 2-year degree (preferred)Experience:5+ years commercial/industrial Plumber (required)10+ years commercial/industrial Plumber (preferred)Licensure:Current Valid Drivers License must be maintained (required)Plumber Journeyman (preferred)Certification:Kentucky Society of Healthcare Engineers KSHE Safe Day One (preferred)Med Gas (preferred)Backflow Prevention (preferred)#LI-DNI
