Komatsu is hiring for a Maintenance Electrical Technician in Longview, TX. Are you a skilled tradesperson that installs, maintains, and repairs electrical equipment and parts, such as control panels and power distribution systems? Then you have just the skillset we are looking for!!
Key Job Responsibilities
Work Safely and be an advocate for safety.This position requires safe work habits and performance, advocacy for safe work conditions, ability to perform risk analysis and determine safe methods for all conditions encountered. Adherence to NFPA 70E requirements and Komatsu Longview Electrical Safety policy and procedures.Ability to read and interpret machine prints and schematics for electrical, controls and instrumentation, fluid power systems, and HVAC.Knowledge and experience with electrical control systems, variable frequency drives, PLC's, and relay control systems. Ability to understand and configure control devices between electrical control function and the mechanical machine components and fluid power systems.Troubleshoot complex machine and process problems using a logical approach to identify and determine corrective actions, including root cause analysis of failures.Installation and setup of electrical distribution equipment and systems up to 480 VAC to NEC Code. Tasks involving isolation of medium voltage (up to 12.5kv) distribution and equipment using hot sticks.Demonstrate knowledge and practices for proper task planning from establishment of job scope to determination of materials/part needs and proper sequence for execution of the task.Assist in mechanical repairs and replacements involving pneumatic and hydraulic systems, plumbing, and other fluid/piped systems and equipment.Preventive maintenance of electrical power and distribution transmission equipment, including testing and interpretation of test results.Preventive maintenance of mechanical power transmission equipment, setup and alignment of gear and belt driven equipment.
Qualifications/Requirements
High School Diploma or GED. Technical School Certificate or Degree Program in Electrical Maintenance or Controls.Previous experience as Industrial Electrician, Military, Licensed Journey/Master Electrician, Licensed Electrical Apprentice with at least 2-3 years documented employment in that role.Computer skills, good verbal and written communication skills, organizational skills, and abilities to prepare machine condition reports.Comfortable working at heights up to 60 feet.Must provide own tools (primarily hand tools but will be provided a minimum tool list). Electrical Test Equipment, safety equipment, large hand tools, and power tools are company provided.2nd Shift (2:30Pm- 11:00pm) position. This shift will be required to work some scheduled and unscheduled overtime, weekend shifts, and some holiday periods.Entrance testing to determine knowledge, aptitude, and suitability for the position.Must be able to pass drug test and physical examination.
