Quality Technician - 1st Shift

Five Star Plastics, Inc., a manufacturer of injection molded products for a wide variety of customers, is looking for a Quality Technician to join our team! In this role, you would be responsible for performing tests and inspections to ensure products meet quality specifications, assuring the quality of assemblies and individual components, and performing dimensional layouts of parts; all while working within our ISO-9001 / AS-9100 Quality Management System.

Our ideal candidate will enjoy understanding why things work the way they do. ASQ certification is a plus!

Duties:

Verify acceptable product at start upMonitor product during entire production for complianceInform Operators of changing conditions or expectationsInstruct Operators on proper methods and proceduresVerify all visual and dimensional inspections are in accordance with inspection plansEnsure all paperwork is completed for each jobMaintain order of files and recordsCreate Certification of Compliance formsAny other duties as required by managerQualifications:

Reading and interpreting blueprintsUtilizing and reading of both digital and dial inspection equipmentUse standard quality equipment, i.e. gage blocks, plug gages, etc.Basic Statistical Process Control (SPC) - desirableOperate Optical Comparator - desirableOperate CMM - desirableOperate Vision System - desirableCapabilities Studies - desirableGage R&R Studies - desirableExperience using Microsoft Office Suites
