POSITION OVERVIEW & PURPOSEThe Packaging Assistant will be responsible for packaging our product for distribution to customers, fulfillment center, and wholesale orders at our Hudson Valley workshop based in Red Hook, NY. This is a physical role. Full-time and part-time opportunities available.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIESHand-wrap and package all products for distributionSetup packaging line with all required materials to ensure daily packaging targets are metAccurately monitor and document daily output for all packaging activities, including any QA rejects through paper logs or directly in the computer system, if applicableEnsure accurate and timely receipt of all inbound shipments and flag any discrepancies to managementMaintain accurate inventory counts for all packaging and WIP materials and participate in monthly cycle count process as neededBox, palletize, and label outbound shipments according to Kate McLeod specificationsPick, pack, and prep wholesale shipments according to retailer specificationsAdhere to all health and safety guidelines and utilize required safety gear when performing specific tasksEnsure both packaging workspace and inventory storage areas are clean and orderlyPerform other duties as assignedQUALIFICATIONS
Prior experience working in a manufacturing or fulfillment environment highly preferredAbility to maneuver pallets, operate forklift and other equipment as neededAbility to work with speed and accuracy in a fast-paced environment, while demonstrating strong attention to detailProductive, adaptable worker with a willingness to tackle any task large or smallAbility to work independently and as part of a teamAbility to lift 35 pounds repeatedly and frequently push, pull, squat, bend and reachAbility to stand/walk for up to 8 hours during shiftsFlexibility to meet shift changes as requiredBasic computer skillsPHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
Ability to lift 55 pounds repeatedly and frequently push, pull, squat, bend, and reachAbility to maneuver pallets, operate forklift and other equipment as neededAbility to stand/walk for up to 9 hours during shifts
