**$500 sign on bonus ($250 at the completion of first week of training and $250 after successful completion of first 90 days)**

Position:

Community Living Specialist 1 Full-Time

(Lived experience with Deaf culture required)**Location:

Holyoke, MA *with regular travel to the Berkshires required (Position is mileage reimbursement eligible)Rate of Pay:

$18.80 per hour; plus a $40 biweekly stipend for second languageHours:

37.5 hours per weekSchedule:

Monday-Friday, 9:00am-5:00pm; occasional evenings and weekendsSummary:The Community Living Specialist 1 provides direct outreach services to individuals that are Deaf, Hard of Hearing, and or Late Deafened to enable them to achieve greater independence. Develops and maintains positive working relationships that assist consumers in achieving self-fulfillment through their life goals and desires.

Lived experience with Deaf culture required. Candidates with human services, residential care, direct care, day program, and caretaker experience encouraged to apply!Qualifications:Must be fluent in American Sign Language (ASL) and have a working knowledge of Deaf cultureAbility to work with a majority female population; female applicants strongly encouraged to applyHigh School/GED plus 2-3 years related or lived experience OR Associate’s degree plus 1 year related experience and/or trainingMust have a valid driver's license, good driving record, use of vehicle and willingness to transport participants in personal vehicleMust be able to travel within the region to access residential settings, employers, offices, and community organizationPlease visit this ASL link to meet some of our DHILS staff and to learn more about this rewarding opportunity!
