Senior Segment Engineer – Automotive Press Application

to work with our large automotive customers to help them improve their ability to apply FANUC products into press shops in ways that will improve their efficiency of operations, throughput, and knowledge so that using FANUC robots will provide significant added value compared to our competition. This includes:Leading the evaluation of new and innovative applications and featuresDemonstrating unique adaptions of available features and options to solve automation challengesActing as the focal point for technical marketing and promotion of these products and related options with our customers and internal and external sales forcePrimary responsibilities will include:Provide strong guidance and support of our press shop customers who need to apply FANUC software products from the following areas:Robot mechanical unitsAdvanced motion control software options (ex. press synchronization, optimization)Press line interface‘Intelligent’ software & hardware (ex. integrated machine vision, line tracking)Integrated safety software & hardwareManage issues and customer relations related to our customer’s application of these products and be able to drive those issues to closure in a timely manner. This will be by always working with multiple departments across both organizations with a sharp focus on customer satisfaction.Identify opportunities for new products or new markets to apply our products, and help to define the requirements for these new products and lead the introduction and application of these products once they are created.Effectively listen and communicate with customers to understand their needs; always responding with courtesy and professionalism while working towards identifying solutions that will put the customer and FANUC in the best position to be mutually successfulPerform market analysis or other related analysis intended to identify opportunities for new controller products or required modifications to existing products, distribution or systems executionDevelop specifications for new products and execute test plansDevelop marketing tools and pricing recommendationsIdentify and support beta/lead users and other activities required as a part of a successful product introductionEvaluate the feasibility of new products, provide customer demonstrations, support proposal development and related activities required to successfully apply FANUC productIdentify product concerns and limitations and manage the resolution of all critical issuesExecute small development efforts or support our internal development groups in the execution of larger development effortsDevelop technical marketing tools or programsConcept, develop, execute, and support demonstration cells for trade shows and for permanent display.Define plans to address those problems and needs, and successfully manage the execution of the development plan.Occasional overnight travel to customer siteIdeal candidate will have the following experience/skills and education:High School Diploma or GED RequiredBachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science or related field, or equivalent relevant experienceStrong experience with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Project is highly desirableExperience with FANUC robots and software options in a broad range of applications.Working knowledge of IS0-10218 requirements for safe application of industrial robots & cybersecurity subject matter is desirableDeveloped and demonstrated an ability to identify and define problems and needsMust have demonstrated capability in computer and/or robot programming, written and oral communication, ability to successfully work in teams, and effectively manage themselves in a somewhat unstructured environmentInterpersonal skills for internal and external resource management (i.e., conflict negotiations)Advanced Project management skills (i.e., planning and administrative skills)We offer market competitive pay and benefits programs, as well as opportunities for advancement, knowledge and skill development, and recognition of individual achievements.
