Job DescriptionASSISTANT PRINCIPAL - SECONDARY(12 MONTHS)SCHOOL YEAR 2024-2025Assignments and Locations to be determinedThe Montgomery County School Board in Virginia is now accepting applications for highly qualified candidates for possible school assistant principal positions that

may

become

available within our division for the 2024-2025 school year.Please note this is a "continuous recruit posting" to build an applicant pool for all schools. As positions become available, all qualified applicants with complete application files will be considered. Should a specific location/job be posted, you may also be required to apply to that posting.PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:To assist the school principal in overall administration of instructional programs and campus level operations, and to assist the school principal in the planning, coordination, and directing of activities and programs related to the administration of the school.WE ARE LOOKING FOR:Successful experience planning and implementing instructional initiativesExperience with state and federal requirements including the Virginia Standards of LearningExcellent communication and interpersonal skillsUnderstanding of the importance of school accreditation and ability to work with parents and staff as a team to achieve the standardRecord of success in establishing an effective learning environment and maintaining high standards of student conductHave experience and expertise in using technology in education and administrationA collaborative leadership styleHave experience in fostering an inclusive learning environmentHave experience or working familiarity with Google Drive for instruction, collaboration and course workHave effective written, verbal, presentation, and interpersonal skillsDemonstrate the ability to work effectively with parents and familiesAbility to be dependable and punctualMINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:Master’s degree in Educational Leadership from an accredited institutionPost Graduate Professional license with administration and supervision endorsement requiredHold or immediately be eligible for a Virginia license with an endorsement in Administration and Supervision: PreK-12Three years of successful experience as a teacherPREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:For elementary positions – Experience at the elementary levelFor secondary positions – Experience at the secondary levelSalary:
