Job Summary

The Staff Nurse will be responsible for:Providing care to adolescent and adult patients with congenital and acquired heart disease within the Boston Adult Congenital Heart (BACH) Program who are cared for at Boston Children’s and Brigham and Women’s Hospital.Phone triage of routine and urgent concerns in collaboration with APP and MD colleagues.Pre-clinic preparation – route orders for diagnostic testing for MD /APP cosign.Prescription refills – via phone or route via e-prescribe to MD /APP prescriber for cosign.Support for prior authorizations, referrals, letters of medical necessity.Patient and family education and anticipatory guidance.Follow-up phone calls regarding test results and follow-up recommendations.Working 40 hours per week: Monday through Friday, either five 8 hour shifts or four 10 hour shifts.To qualify, you must have:Bachelor of Science in Nursing.Current MA RN license.BLS certification.2 years of adult cardiac or pediatric cardiac RN experience (3-5 years preferred, acute care inpatient preferred).EMR competency.Strong organizational and critical decision-making skills.Strong written and verbal communication skills.Flexible and collaborative approach to patient care.Ability to travel to satellite locations if operational need.Boston Children’s Hospital offers competitive compensation and unmatched benefits including flexible schedules, affordable health, vision and dental insurance, child care and student loan subsidies, generous levels of time off, 403(b) Retirement Savings plan, Pension, Tuition and certain License and Certification Reimbursement, cell phone plan discounts and discounted rates on T-passes.
