Tax Manager -- State and Local Taxes
Salary: $160-185K plus a bonus, benefits and relocation fee (if needed.)
Location: Hybrid model. Must work in office (Miami, Florida Office) 2-3 days a week. About:
We are an established South Florida-based public accounting firm looking for a Tax Manager with recent Public Accounting experience. Our company was founded in 1959 and has approximately 70 professionals with offices located in Miami and Boca Raton. The firm has a rich history of internal growth and professional development, providing audit/financial reporting, tax, forensic and other related services. Our clients are both domestically and internationally based. Our firm’s growth mirrors South Florida’s rise on the global stage. Summary: - The Tax Manager will lead and manage multiple tax engagements to deliver state tax services for our diverse client base. - Lead a team of tax professionals, providing guidance, training, and supervision. Coordinating the team's efforts to achieve tax-related goals and deadlines. - This individual will serve as a consultant and representative on state business income, personal income, sales and use, payroll and other state taxes. - The individual will be responsible for reviewing or drafting memoranda and other tax correspondence as well as creating spreadsheets. - The individual will address tax credits including the research credit, tax audits, voluntary disclosure agreements, and tax filing positions. - Build new and existing client relationships and demonstrate basic knowledge of client’s businesses. - Work closely with Tax Partners to satisfy the needs with planning compliance. - Understand and manage firm risk on tax services performed. - Research, write and consult on various tax engagements. - Respond to inquiries from state tax authorities. - Manage multiple clients, budgets and production goals. Requirements: - Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting or a Business-related field of study. - CPA. - 5+ years of relevant tax experience working in a CPA firm. - A strong tax technical background developed from preparation of income tax returns for all types of entities. - Strong tax planning and compliance surrounding income, trusts & estates, and gift tax matters. - Experience with Microsoft Office Suite. - Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Ability to articulate complex tax concepts to clients clearly and understandably. - Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills, coupled with the ability to think strategically and make informed decisions. - Strong relationship management and practice development skills - Ability to attract and service new clients and expand services to existing clients.
