Duties And Responsibilities

Provide legal advice and guidance to the organization on a wide range of legal matters, including regulatory compliance, insurance law, and corporate governance.Develop and implement policies and procedures to ensure compliance with applicable laws and regulations.Monitor and interpret changes in legislation and regulations and advise the organization on the impact of such changes to ensure compliance.Provide accurate legal guidance on (re)insurance regulatory and compliance matters.Oversee internal controls and auditing systems that monitor and report on regulated activities and processes.Conduct regular audits to ensure compliance with all legal and regulatory requirements.Develop risk-based compliance testing of existing procedures and controls to identify, detect, and correct noncompliance.Provide communication, guidance, and training to other departments within Slide on compliance-related issues.Write summarization reports and communicate new external regulations to senior leadership.Represent the company in interactions with regulatory agencies.Draft and review contracts, agreements, and other legal documents.Manage litigation and other legal disputes.Provide legal support to the organization's business units and departments.Manage outside counsel and other legal service providers.Provide legal support for mergers, acquisitions, and other corporate transactions.Perform Corporate Secretary duties for Board of Directors and Shareholder's meetings.Perform other duties or functions as may be required.

Education, Experience And Licensing Requirements

Juris Doctor degree from an accredited law school.Admission to the bar in the state of Florida.Minimum of 10 years of experience practicing law, with a focus on insurance regulatory compliance.Experience managing litigation and other legal disputes.Experience providing legal support for mergers, acquisitions, and other corporate transactions.Some experience with SEC rules and supporting a publicly traded company preferred.5+ years' experience in a leadership level role required.

Qualifications/Skills And Competencies

Strong knowledge of insurance regulations and laws required.Effective research, problem solving, analytical, critical thinking, and relationship management skills are necessary.Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to professionally interact with team members in other departments as well as regulatory agencies.Proven people leadership skills in a results-driven environment.Exceptional organizational and time management skills with the ability to plan and prioritize effectively.Ability to work independently while effectively communicating with multiple teams.Strong problem solving and analytical skills.Solid working proficiencies of business operations, procedures, and priorities with a strong ability to support change and impart value within an organization.Proficient in MSO/365 applications such as Microsoft Teams, SharePoint, Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook.Desire to live Slide's Core Values.
