Director, Warehouse Operations & LogisticsWaltham, MADescriptionLyra Therapeutics, Inc. is a clinical-stage biotechnology company developing novel, integrated drug and delivery solutions for the localized treatment of patients with chronic rhinosinusitis (CRS) and other chronic diseases. Lyra has two investigational product candidates, LYR-210 and LYR-220, in late-stage development for CRS, a highly prevalent inflammatory disease of the paranasal sinuses which leads to debilitating symptoms and significant morbidities. LYR-210 and LYR-220 are bioresorbable polymeric matrices designed to be administered in a brief, non-invasive, in-office procedure and are intended to deliver up to six months of continuous mometasone furoate drug therapy to the sinonasal passages as an alternative to sinus surgery. LYR-210 is designed for surgically naïve patients and is being evaluated in the ENLIGHTEN Phase 3 clinical program, while LYR-220, an enlarged matrix, is being evaluated in patients who have recurrent symptoms despite surgery in the BEACON Phase 2 clinical trial. These two product candidates are designed to treat the estimated four million CRS patients in the United States who fail medical management each year.Our Supply Chain team is growing, and we are currently recruiting for a strategic and results-driven Director to oversee and elevate our supply chain warehouse operations and logistics functions. This role requires experience as a proven leader who can effectively manage both the tactical execution and long-term strategic direction of warehouse operations and logistics. The successful candidate will play a critical role in driving operational excellence, fostering innovation, and positioning Lyra Therapeutics for continued growth and success.ResponsibilitiesProvide strong leadership and mentorship to the warehouse operations and logistics team, fostering a culture of collaboration, accountability, and continuous improvement. Lead by example and inspire team members to achieve excellence in their rolesDevelop and implement a strategic roadmap for warehouse operations and logistics that aligns with Lyra's business objectives and supports the company's growth initiatives. Identify opportunities for process optimization, cost reduction, and efficiency improvementsCollaborate closely with internal stakeholders, including Manufacturing, Quality Assurance, Regulatory Affairs, Commercial Operations, and Finance, to ensure alignment of supply chain activities with broader organizational goals and prioritiesBuild and maintain strategic relationships with key suppliers, third-party logistics providers (3PLs), and other external partners. Negotiate contracts, monitor performance, and drive continuous improvement in service levels and cost-effectivenessDrive a culture of continuous improvement within the warehouse operations and logistics functions, leveraging data analytics and best practices to identify areas for optimization and innovation. Implement initiatives to enhance productivity, accuracy, and customer satisfactionProactively identify and mitigate risks related to supply chain disruptions, regulatory changes, and other external factors. Develop robust contingency plans to ensure business continuity and minimize potential impacts on operationsEnsure compliance with regulatory requirements, Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), and quality management systems (QMS) within the warehouse environment. Implement and maintain standard operating procedures (SOPs) to uphold the highest standards of quality and safetyEstablish key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure the effectiveness and efficiency of warehouse operations and logistics activities. Provide regular reporting and analysis to senior management, highlighting achievements, challenges, and opportunities for improvementProvide coaching, training, and professional development opportunities to empower team members and support their career growthRequirements
Bachelor's degree in supply chain management, logistics, business administration, or a related field; advanced degree preferredMinimum of 10+ years of progressive experience in supply chain management, warehouse operations, and logistics, preferably in the pharmaceutical or biotech industryProven track record of leadership and strategic thinking, with the ability to inspire and motivate teams to achieve excellenceStrong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to leverage data and insights to drive decision-making and process improvementExcellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams and external partnersDeep understanding of warehouse management systems (WMS), inventory control principles, and distribution best practicesExperience managing global supply chain networks, including international transportation, customs compliance, and import/export regulationsFamiliarity with regulatory requirements (FDA, EMA) and quality management systems (QMS) in a GMP environmentProven ability to navigate complex business environments, adapt to changing priorities, and drive results in a fast-paced, dynamic organizationAt Lyra, we value creativity, leadership, and collaboration.
