Its mission is to preach the gospel of Jesus Christ and to meet human needs in His name without discrimination.BASIC PURPOSEThe purpose of this position is to provide safe and courteous transportation of youth programs, seasonal workers and goods donated and help in the stocking, storing, repairing and moving of goods in preparation for Youth Programs and Holiday fund raising and Distribution efforts.ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIESPromote the Mission of The Salvation Army.Serve as a positive role model for staff, volunteers, children and bell ringers.Relate joyfully and sensitively to staff, volunteers, children, the public and bell ringers.Drive children and adults for programs as needed.Provide quality service to kettle and barrel location administrators through positive communication and problem-solving.Efficient handling of goods donated to The Salvation Army.Operate The Salvation Army vehicles in a safe and courteous manner and maintain defensive driving.Maintain accurate up to date records on route sheets, incident reports, accident reports, vehicle condition reports, and other records that are requested from management.Inspect, upkeep, and drive The Salvation Army vehicles with volunteers, staff and goods. Properly secure Salvation Army vehicles. Inform office coordinator of any vehicle issues as they arise.Keep all vehicles clean inside and outside.Perform minor maintenance tasks on The Salvation Army vehicles as required.Put on and take off snow chains properly when required.Other duties as assigned by corps officer.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES AND OTHER QUALIFICATIONS REQUIREMENTSMust have minimal ability to read and write for record keeping and directions.

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONSPossession of a valid Nevada

Class A or B Driver

License with passenger endorsement is requiredMust be 21 years or older.Must pass DOT Pre-Employment and DOT Physical, and have a current Medical CardObtain a Motor Vehicle Report (MVR) from the NV DMV and present upon interview.Complete The Salvation Army vehicle course training.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:Ability to sit, walk, stand, bend, squat, climb, kneel, and twist on an intermittent or sometimes continuous basis.Ability to grasp, push, and/or pull objectsAbility to reach overheadAbility to lift up to 30 lbs.Regular team lifting of 75 pounds or more.
