Position Summary

The College of Science and Engineering at Houston Christian University seeks applicants for adjunct faculty positions in Information Systems who are passionate about teaching and student learning in a Christian environment. Adjunct faculty will be working with HCU faculty and staff in the College of Science and Engineering in developing and delivering undergraduate-level courses in the field of information systems. Positions are open for Fall 2023.

Adjunct (part-time) faculty hiring is based on student demand. Adjunct faculty are hired in a part-time capacity on a course-by-course basis, contingent upon the needs of the University. HCU accepts application material year-round from qualified applicants willing to teach on a part-time basis.

Job Responsibilities Teaching undergraduate-level courses in the field of information systems through an interactive lab-based curriculum. Participate in course development and review as needed and recommend changes to courses and curriculum design. Manage classroom environment and assist in creating an effective Christian learning environment. Motivate students to learn and grow in their knowledge and skills associated with information systems within a Christian environment. Perform other duties as needed. Qualifications

Minimum of a Master's Degree in a related discipline with at least 18 graduate hours in a related discipline and teaching experience aligned with the discipline. A PhD in a related discipline is preferred. Industry work experience in the related discipline is preferred. Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
