Summary
Receivers are responsible for all functions and paperwork relating to receiving. They will operate machinery including baler, compactor, and forklift in a safe and proper manner. Receivers must maximize sales potential through effective and proper procedures for receiving all products entering the warehouse including verifying actual product against packing slips, confirming product integrity, and checking product temperatures as needed. They must initial and code invoices, log invoices, and distribute to appropriate departments. Receivers are responsible for maintaining cleanliness of receiving area including loading dock and trash areas.
Essential FunctionsAssist shipping and receiving, unloading trucks, checking in merchandise, matching purchase orders to sales orders and distributing for processing.Moving materials and items from receiving or storage areas to shipping or to other designated areas.Sorting and placing materials or items on racks, shelves, or in bins according to predetermined sequence such as size, type, style, color, or product code.Filling requisitions of stock items and distributes items to shipping or to designated route driver storage area.Ensuring warehouse is accessible and safe for salespeople and customer traffic.Marking materials with identifying information using appropriate method.Opening totes, crates, and other containers.Recording amounts of materials or items received or distributed via appropriate computer program.Assisting in counting of physical inventory.May be assigned facilities maintenance duties as needed.Sweeping, dusting, and mopping.Organizing warehouse and work area for orderliness at all times.Wearing the proper safety equipment.Competencies
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.Ability to write correspondence.Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measureWork Environment
This job operates in a warehouse setting. The facility is not mechanically temperature controlled. The floor surface is concrete and wood. The noise level is moderate with no vibration. The environment encompasses all areas of a Distribution Center; material movement takes place throughout the facility. This position requires the teammate to work inside the majority of the time. This position may require work in hot and cold temperature extremes and exposure to dust, dirt, fumes, noise, potentially harmful chemicals, solvents and components, and working in close to proximity to other teammates. Closed-toe shoes must be worn at all times.

The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to (50) fifty pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to (60) sixty pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move more than (80) eighty pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
Required Education and Experience
High school diploma or general education degree (GED);Three months or more related experience and/or training; orEquivalent combination of education and experience.
