Job Description: IT Director

Position Overview: As an IT Director for the Professional Football League, you will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of information technology and computer systems. You will lead a team of IT professionals and collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure the effective management and utilization of technology infrastructure and systems. Your role will play a crucial part in supporting the League's operations, enhancing cybersecurity measures, and driving technological innovation. Key Responsibilities:

IT Strategy and Planning:

Develop and execute the League's IT strategy, aligning it with the organization's goals and objectives. Collaborate with key stakeholders to identify technology needs, prioritize initiatives, and define long-term IT roadmaps. Stay up-to-date with emerging technologies, industry trends, and best practices to drive innovation and operational efficiency.

Team Leadership and Management:

Lead and manage a team of IT professionals, providing guidance, mentorship, and support. Delegate tasks, manage workloads, and ensure timely and high-quality delivery of IT projects. Foster a collaborative and inclusive team environment, promoting professional growth and development.

Technology Infrastructure Management:

Oversee the design, implementation, and maintenance of the League's technology infrastructure, including networks, servers, databases, and hardware/software systems. Ensure the reliability, availability, and security of IT infrastructure, optimizing performance and addressing scalability requirements. Collaborate with external vendors and service providers to manage IT contracts, service-level agreements (SLAs), and support agreements.

IT Operations and Support:

Establish and enforce IT policies, procedures, and standards to ensure the secure and efficient operation of IT systems and services. Manage help desk operations, providing timely and effective support to end-users and resolving technical issues. Implement IT service management processes, including incident management, change management, and problem management.

Cybersecurity and Data Privacy:

Develop and implement cybersecurity strategies and measures to protect the League's IT systems, networks, and data from unauthorized access and potential threats. Conduct regular security assessments, vulnerability scanning, and penetration testing to identify and address potential risks. Ensure compliance with data privacy regulations and implement necessary safeguards for data protection.

Technology Project Management:

Lead and oversee IT projects, including system implementations, upgrades, and enhancements. Define project scopes, objectives, timelines, and deliverables, ensuring projects are completed on time and within budget. Coordinate project resources, manage project risks, and communicate project updates to stakeholders.

Business Continuity and Disaster Recovery:

Develop and maintain business continuity and disaster recovery plans to ensure the continuity of IT operations in the event of disruptions or emergencies. Conduct regular backups, test disaster recovery procedures, and implement measures to minimize downtime and data loss.

Vendor Management:

Manage relationships with technology vendors, negotiate contracts, and ensure vendor compliance with SLAs and contractual obligations. Evaluate vendor proposals and solutions, making recommendations based on the League's technology needs and budget constraints. Stay informed about industry trends and emerging technologies, leveraging vendor partnerships to drive technological advancements.

IT Budgeting and Financial Management:

Develop and manage the IT department's budget, ensuring cost-effective utilization of resources and adherence to financial guidelines. Monitor IT expenditures, track expenses, and provide regular reports on budget performance.

Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in computer science, information technology, or a related field. Master's degree is a plus. Proven experience in IT management or related roles, preferably in the sports or entertainment industry. Strong knowledge of IT infrastructure, systems, and cybersecurity best practices. Experience with IT project management methodologies and tools. Familiarity with data privacy regulations and compliance frameworks. Excellent leadership and team management skills. Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities. Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.
