General Statement of Duties
To provide technical and administration support of the district WAN, LAN & Wireless Networking infrastructure. Incumbent will work as a Network Administrator within the Technology Department working in conjunction with the Network Manager and other Network Administrators in the support of district wide technologies.Will act as a liaison providing technical support to Technology Support Technicians (TST), System Administrators, Schools, and Centralized Administration.
Salary range: $69,537.71 - $85,871.88 based on experience, or subject to HCPS promotion policy. (Note: The salary for this postition will be prorated based upon the official start date.)
Essential Duties
ESSENTIAL DUTIES
:
3 rd Tier District Support.
Assists school-based Technology Support Technicians and Technology Support Specialist in Desktop, Data platform and printing networking.Implements, configures, and administers all District WAN, LAN & Wireless related software, hardware and infrastructure.Supports administration of Wireless infrastructure utilizing Meraki Wireless Cloud Solution.Supports administration of Wireless security policies utilizing Identity Service Engine (ISE).Supports District VPN solution and provisioning of services.Implements, configures, and administers all District Routers and Switches.Assists Network Manager with Operational support of District Firewalls.Provisions network resources in support of the District Voice over IP (VOIP) infrastructure initiatives.Support of Data Center networking equipment.Support of District DMZ.Is in keeping with networking security best practices.Manages various Network Projects while working with Facilities Project Managers.Monitor day-to-day network operations.Perform data traffic analysis.Support of District school renovations.Support of District wide student assessment and testing solution infrastructure.Support of Cloud computing infrastructure.Support of Mobile Device Management infrastructure.Attends work daily and be engaged in job responsibilities and is Self-Motivated.Perform other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
Knowledge and experience with Layer 2 and Layer 3 IOS Routing, Trunking, VLANs, QOS, ACL's, VPN's, AP's and Cloud solutions.Having a working knowledge of WAN services to include TLS, ENS, Broadband, MPLS, EIGRP, BGP, OSPF, MPLS, SNMP, Spanning Tree, VSS/VSL.Have a general working knowledge of network Firewalls and Voice over IP (VoIP).The ability to work in a professional manner closely and positively with others.Propensity to independently troubleshoot and work towards a viable solution. Minimum 2 years' experience in the use and administration of networking related equipment preferred.Knowledge of Cisco networking equipment and Meraki Wireless Cloud Solution.Strong customer service and communication skills are must.
