We are searching for a

Patient Access Intake Specialist

to perform a wide variety of duties to facilitate patient access to physician practice services throughout Southcoast Physicians Group. Ensure patient compliance with applicable organization policy and obtain accurate patient information to ensure patient safety and satisfaction, while ensuring optimal reimbursement to the organization in accordance with various external regulations. Work as liaison between insurance carrier, physician office and other clinical services both within and without system wide departments to assure coordination of care, patient satisfaction and that all authorizations and referrals for all services are in place prior to service. Using critical thinking skills to insure appropriate CPT/ICD-9 codes are documented for appropriate service and payment.

Education and/or Experience Requirements:Associate's Degree in a related field or equivalent combination of education and experience is required; Bachelor's Degree preferred.Certificate in Medical Terminology is required.CHAM (Certified Healthcare Access Manage) or CHAA (Certified Healthcare Access Associate) is preferred.Previous call center or customer service experience is preferred.Strong computer skills and proficiency with Microsoft Office including Word, Excel, and other software programs is preferred.Very good organizational skills are required.Over three (3) years of related healthcare experience, including working with third party payers is preferred.Prior experience with referral authorization is preferred.
