Overview:
The Director of Total Rewards will drive the compensation, benefits, payroll and HRIS strategy. This person will evaluate the companys existing compensation and benefits programs, define a total rewards strategy, develop a compensation and benefits philosophy, and design and implement competitive programs, policies and processes to foster an equitable, diverse and inclusive work environment and enhance the team member experience. The Director will also create guidelines, resources, and communications for leaders and team members to understand these programs and processes. The Director reports to the Executive Director of Human Resources and serves as a vital member of the HR leadership team and manages the Total Rewards team.The person in this position works under general supervision, is responsible for various shifts, may be subject to over 40 hours per week and/or callback as required, and may also be required to remain on campus immediately before, during, and after severe weather and/or disasters.Qualifications:Bachelors Degree required. Masters degree preferred.Five plus (5+) years of progressive human resources related experience. Three (3) years management experience to include leading cross functional projects. Strong preference for experience in a complex health care setting.PHR, SPHR, SHRM certification or CHHR is required within two (2) years of employment/transfer.Excellent organizational and follow up skills. Excellent communications skills, written and verbal. Strong leadership skills. Possess solid project management skills. Proficiency in Human Resources laws and ethics. Strong critical thinking skills. Strong presentation and public speaking skills. Proficient with MS Office programs and intermediate skills in MS Excel. Strong PC and analytical skills. Possesses knowledge of HR policies and procedures as well as federal, state/province and local laws. Understanding the implications of new information for both current and future problem-solving and decision-making. Strong ability to proactively identify and implement effective solutions. Strong business acumen and strategic mindset. Excellent project management, writing and great attention to detail. Demonstrates knowledge of EEO policy and promotes a harassment-free environment. Basic understanding of compensation and benefit policies and programs, employee relations practices. Ability to demonstrate high personal impact and influence to build a strong trusted advisor relationship with functional leaders, HR business partners, team members, and divisional partners. Strong strategic and critical thinking skill. Ability to work cross-culturally and cross-functionally, and ability to adapt personal style to different environments while supporting the development and evolution of diversity & inclusion initiatives that support the BHC culture. Effective decision-making skills, Ability to choose a course of action among various options involving uncertainty or risk. Demonstrated program ownership and consistent delivery on commitments with exceptional follow through and attention to detail. Excellent relationship building, teamwork, coaching, and collaboration skills to work effectively with teams throughout organization and demonstrated ability to influence others.
