Piper Companies is currently seeking an
Quality Manager
to support a global food safety, and quality company in Madison WI.
Responsibilities of the Quality Manager• Develop, establish, and maintain all quality-related documents (Manuals, Procedures, Work Instructions, Charts, Guidelines).• Prepare and conduct internal quality audit programs, ensuring adherence to quality documents, and generating corresponding reports.• Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of the quality system, implementing corrective actions as necessary.• Participate in the implementation of internal quality control programs and investigate quality failures, providing recommendations for improvement.• Manage the internal and external calibration program, establish control limits, and participate in audits.• Organize management reviews and IQA meetings, conducting in-house training sessions on total quality management.• Analyze and report on external proficiency program results, closing out non-conformances, and conducting follow-up audits.• Cease specific analyses when evidence indicates the process is not in control and communicate resumption of work to relevant parties.• Maintain knowledge of LIMS required for job responsibilities.• Perform other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications of the Quality Manager• General knowledge of microbiology and chemistry, typically obtained from a related degree or job experience.• Basic knowledge of food science for analyzing microbiological or chemical content of food samples.• Broad knowledge of laboratory procedures and policies to develop and maintain quality control systems and training programs.• General knowledge of Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS) for accuracy of client data.• Basic computer software skills and data entry proficiency for generating reports and calculating quality control results.• Planning skills to ensure timely completion of analysis tasks.• Strong oral and written communication skills for report writing and collaboration on quality issues.• Management experience, potentially leading a team of administrative staff.
Compensation for the Quality Manager• Pay Rate: $75k-$85k depending on experience.• Comprehensive Benefits package: Medical, Dental, Vision, 401K, PTO
